Before sunrise in San Francisco, the sky opened with rare clarity over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

This photograph almost never happened.

While visiting Capitola for a family gathering, I made a last-minute decision to leave before dawn and chase a dream shot I had envisioned for years.

Since beginning my fine art landscape journey, photographing the Golden Gate Bridge at sunrise had always been on my list. After all, I was born in San Francisco!

The conditions could not have aligned more perfectly. Calm air. Crystal clear skies. Soft early morning light wrapping around one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.

But what made this moment truly special was the emotional connection behind it.

As I stood overlooking the bridge, I found myself reflecting on my parents and their early years together in San Francisco. It transformed this image from a beautiful landscape photograph into something much deeper and more meaningful to me personally.

I wasn't expecting to head out on a journey from Capitola to San Francisco this morning, but divine guidance led me to make the trip.

Leaving my hotel at 3:45 am to arrive by 5:15, I arrived exactly where I needed to be. After all, I am in town for my uncle’s celebration of life.

I'm thrilled I took the leap and made the trip. I'm a true child of the City by the Bay, born in San Francisco. My Dad's stories of his carefree youth in the Haight with my mom, young and free-spirited, have always resonated deeply within me.

There was an undeniable calling to be there today, a nudge from my Dad, God, or perhaps both. Without hesitation, I surrendered to the journey. I know my Dad was with me! 😇

The Bay unfolded before me on a beautifully clear day, what a precious gift.

“Revelation at Lake Powell”

Photographed from my balcony at Lake Powell Resort in Page, Arizona, this dramatic desert sunset completely stopped me in my tracks.

After living in Arizona for 23 years, this was my very first time seeing Lake Powell in person, and I was absolutely blown away by its scale, light, and beauty.

The glowing sandstone cliffs, the calm water below, and the storm clouds catching the final light of the evening created one of the most unforgettable scenes I have ever witnessed.
