Never have I shared this with anyone other than my immediate family and friends; however, I have reached a point of gratitude and acceptance. Grateful that I have created a visual compilation of memories that bring on an abundance of emotions, but accepting of the brisk reality that my grandpa is gone.
My grandfather loved documenting life events, both the mundane and the significant. I have been told that during his younger years, he always carried a camera. Watching his 8mm film rolls and scanning through the boxes of his photographs was therapeutic and cathartic. Although he had already passed, it felt as if he was there with me in person, re-telling his stories as I finished digitizing each roll of film.
In his honor, I am creating an independent production company, ππ³π’π·πͺπ΄ ππ³π°π₯πΆπ€π΅πͺπ°π―π΄ that allocates time to families interested in telling their stories through visual storytelling for generations to come. Whether that be of an elderly family member, of a deceased loved one or of the family history as a whole. We will be conducting & filming interviews while also digitizing 8mm film rolls, VHS tapes & film scans in order to create invaluable short films similar to the one I created for my grandpa.
For now, please email me if I have sparked interest.
