Photography trip to Murrells Inlet, SC, including Huntington Beach SP, Brookgreen Gardens, Atalaya Castle (Moorish-style castle built in 1931 as the winter home to the Huntingtons), and the long-abandoned McKenzie Beach Motel. That last one has a fascinating story that you should google. It was an African-American beach resort and music club that featured Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald and others before it was destroyed in the 1950s by Hurricane Hazel.

2021 Allowed for a bit more getting out into the world, until recently. As a follow up to last year's list and as a way to look back at the year, here are my "Top 21 in 2021" photos. Friends... we are having a multi-family yard sale this coming Saturday in Scottsville on Fieldcrest Drive from 8-1. I am pulling out all of my matted 5x7 and 8x10 photos and selling them as part of the sale... only $3 - $5 each for 5x7s and $8 for 8x10s! Cleaning out my inventory! Here is a sampling, but I have dozens of different photos from around Scottsville and elsewhere!

A large part of what made 2020 tolerable was going places and taking pictures. In honor of that, and as a way to look back at the year, I decided to create my "Top 20 in 2020" photo list. I am including 21, though, for the new year, and because I had a hard time narrowing down. Most are just favorites from a photography standpoint, but some have either 2020 or personal significance, as contributing factors for being in the list. Hope you enjoy, and happy 2021, my friends! Before all the James River ice melts this week, I spent an early evening hanging out with several ducks, geese, and an eagle at Warren Ferry watching this sunset. Not a bad way to end the day.
