Nearly 1800 fans packed into Phillips Fieldhouse Thursday night to witness an instant classic battle between Pearland and North Shore. When the dust settled, the 11th ranked Mustangs walked away with the win over the 14th ranked Oilers and will advance to the next round of the Region three 6A Div2 playoffs.

Here’s yet another reason why needs to institute a for HS Basketball. It happened a few years ago in a game between Silsbee and Lumberton. I understand that the coaches are the ones who vote on it but these tactics are still being used to this day. Just forfeit the game in advance to save your team the travel costs if your plan is to do this. I would love for some coaches to chime in on the subject. Perhaps use shot clocks in 6A-4A games and let the smaller classifications figure it out in the meantime. Maybe for playoffs only? There has to be an amicable solution.

is looking to regain it’s prominence and match the energy it’s perennial state champion football team delivers. With a new coach at the helm who’s no stranger to leading elite programs, Coach Woods has them headed into the playoffs on a mission. On Tuesday, the mustangs were visited by their east beltway rival .boysbasketball and walked away with a decisive 75-63 win to remain in the hunt for a possible tie at first place in Region 3 District 23-6A. Creek needs to win it’s last two to hold onto a berth in the playoffs. Much success to both teams 🤙🏾

Eastside vs Westside holds off a second half comeback by to remind undefeated and claim the Region 3 District 22 6A Title. The Oilers held The Sharks scoreless in the half on their way to a 21-14 victory. Pearland has a much needed bye next week and closes out the regular season against South Houston before heading into the playoffs. SC needs to win their remaining two games against S.Houston and Rayburn to lock in playoff spot.
