Hello and good evening from the western region of New England. I had a fantastic time at the Chris Chandler Youth Baseball Scholarship Fund Event in City of Keene. I can't tell you how nice it is to just be at a small town baseball game that is put on well. It really has some sort of magic to it.

Anyway, Eric Chandler, the man that propositioned me to do this event, had told me I had a couple weeks to come up with something for him. Well I have a little bit of time tonight so here's something to hold you over. They really ended up coming out to be great pictures. Of course I am a little bit partial to the foreground subject image. Videos to come of this event.

I'm going to work through the night tonight and get through some stuff that has been simmering for about 3 weeks. This week should be a good one coming up for content and back to NH towns!

(Oh, and Fox News messaged. They liked that twisty cloud video. You may see that other places. πŸ˜‰)

Every time I make some progress on old footage something amazing happens!!!!! Arghhh!!!! πŸ˜„

To the people of Greenville New Hampshire Fire Department Parade your fireworks and nighttime aerial footage is coming.....I just have to show you some stuff first.

I am sort of one of those aerial storm chasing kind of people (weather afficianado) . Sometimes I am lucky. I am going to release all 3 of these hyperlapses at once. I hope you all like them. The mountain in the background is Mount Haystack.

(Bear with me uLocal. New Hampshire coverage will be back on the air shortly. πŸ˜‰)

Winding tightly through the steep valleys carved out by the Souhegan River, this historic town typically falls asleep early. But once a year, exactly at midnight, the quiet streets turn into pure neon chaos and metallic mayhem.

This aerial collage brings together three different perspectives of the annual Greenville Fire Department Pots and Pans Parade. Seeing the glowing floats, classic cars, and marching neighbors move through the narrow downtown streets from altitude reveals the incredible spirit of this tight-knit community. It is a brilliant reminder of how vibrant New Hampshire’s small-town traditions remain.

The Historical Record

The Midnight Grassroots Origins:
The Greenville Pots and Pans Parade is a fierce grassroots tradition born directly from the community's desire to ring in the 4th of July at the earliest possible moment. (They do.) Stepping off exactly at midnight as July 3rd transitions into Independence Day, the procession relies on citizens clanging kitchenware and making as much noise as humanly possible to wake the quiet valley of our independence.

"If It Glows, It Shows":
Over the decades, the visual signature of the parade has evolved around the local motto, "If it glows, it shows." Participants wrap fully illuminated floats, neon marching groups, and classic cars in spectacular light displays, transforming the dark village center into a glowing river of color when viewed from altitude. I can tell you, it's amazing from any perspective.

The Historic Parade Route:
The physical path of the midnight march traces the oldest commercial arteries of the town, moving down River, Main, and Mill streets. These narrow corridors were originally built to serve the 19th-century textile mills along the river, and they now serve as an echoing amplifier for the passing community trucks and hand-held noisemakers.

Thank you to Jay Antos for having the confidence in having me document such an incredible event. It also goes without saying to thank all the firefighters who risk their lives. Amazing work you do.
