Pete Droge has spent decades shaping the Pacific Northwest sound from a few different sides of the stage. Over the years, he’s played guitar for March of Crimes and 25th Hour, fronted Ramadillo as guitarist and vocalist, and has had an incredible career as a solo artist.

His portrait was taken on Lisabeula Beach near his home on Vashon Island, not far from Bainbridge Island, where he grew up and joined his first bands.
“Bainbridge was a unique place to come of age. It was quiet and rural, with easy access to a great city with a thriving music scene just a 35-minute ferry ride away.”

Meet Candice Pedersen - she co-owned K Records from 1989 to 1999, helping build it into one of the most influential indie labels in the Pacific Northwest.

Her AMWAP story takes us from record shops in London to a tiny rehearsal space in Glasgow, where an unexpected afternoon with The Pastels and Teenage Fanclub became a memory she’s carried for more than 35 years.

“When I close my eyes, I can still see myself sitting on a large rock outside the studio, trying to pull myself together after seeing two of my favorite bands in a tiny studio in Glasgow.”

Sometimes, just one conversation can change everything.

For King Khazm that moment happened after seeing Sir Mix-A-Lot perform; backstage, he met the crew, including the legendary DJ Nasty Nes (RIP), who told him, “Dream big and just go for it; anything is possible with determination.”

Those words became a guide for his life and a key part of his story.

More than 30 years later, Khazm is still living that dream as an artist, producer, organizer, and co-founder of 206 Zulu. He continues to help preserve, celebrate, and grow Seattle's hip-hop culture for future generations.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Over 200 people showed up for No Sleep Til Beacon, a backyard party and fundraiser celebrating music, art, and community.

If you’re wondering how the night went, it was supposed to end at 9 and went till 11 and it’s all ’s fault.

Oh, and somehow...it didn’t rain. Here’s a glimpse for those who couldn’t make this one. More to come 🖤

is turning a private Beacon Hill home into a hip-hop house party / fundraiser for , feat. the legendary : three-time DMC World DJ Champion, former Beastie Boys DJ, member of Invisibl Skratch Piklz, and one of the most influential turntablists of all time.

No giant venue.
