The sunbathing season has arrived.🦦

After a cold plunge in Puget Sound, a good roll in the sand and shaking off the excess water nothing beats soaking up some rays.

I cherish my river otter interactions and I feel this might be one of my best portraits.

Thanks for sharing this moment with me.

Once in a blue moon 🌚

When you get a second full moon within the same month it's called a blue moon. And tonight, as the full blue moon rose over and beyond along the I-90 corridor and the Cascade Mountains it was the most beautiful sight. I chose to share the moment it cleared the Cascades to reveal her full glory. 🌝
Photographed from Kingston WA
Using Photo_pills I was able to determine its path.

Happy Hump Day.🐳

What a pleasant surprise today on my beach outing that I got to see this giant humpback whale. This was a massive whale and not far offshore. They can grow up to 60 feet long and weigh 40 tons. There were a lot of disturbances above the water as the day really warmed up but what a treat.

Repeated occurrences.

This is the crater rim of Mt St Helens with Mt Adams in the distance. With the 46th anniversary of the eruption of Mt St Helens tomorrow, I reached into my archives from July of 2023. My cousin and I took a scenic flight with Kenmore Air and this is from the many images I took.
Did you know since the last ice age, Mt St Helens has erupted 40 times. Look closely into the crater and you can see layers of previous eruptions exposed from the last major eruption on May 18, 1980.

What an Ottastic day!!πŸ₯°πŸ¦¦πŸ₯°

Today marks my best interactions with the great American river otter to date.
I love them so much. I feel so fortunate for these interactions.
When the weather finally began warming today, I decided with the low tide it would be a good time to go look for the osprey and maybe my little buddy the river otter I’d been seeing several times over the last week. As I walked down the beach I saw the river otter heading out to the water. I made my way down the beach more than sat up in the driftwood so that I was a little obscured and watched him fish. He was moving north along the shoreline so every few minutes I would move a little too. I then noticed this large rock I'd photographed the otter with the other day as it returned to the beach. So anticipating it was heading that way, I did too so I could be in a better position if it exited. My predictions paid off and it was truly a moment of magic. He exited the water and ran up the beach towards me. Stopping to groom itself I felt like I should make my presence known as it had not detected me yet. As expected he sniffed the air and caught my scent and then returned to the water to fish some more.
Please slide through the whole set and thank you for sharing this moment with me.

Hello! Hi!! πŸ‘‹πŸ»πŸ‘‹πŸ»
Right here in the back.
Are you having a good Sunday?

Had several cute moments with these Canada goslings as they swam around and explored their new surroundings.

Goonies never say die!!

Quite the moody vibes welcomed me as I arrived at Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach for sunset. This massive basalt formed sea stack stands 235 feet. Home to many birds as well as the protected Marine Garden.
Thanks for sharing this moment with me and have a great day.

Today is my Mom's Birthday. πŸŒ·πŸ’
I miss her so much.

While chasing morning light this year at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm another Savannah Sparrow appeared which of course took me right back to the last birthday I got to celebrate with my Mom before she left us. It's also a good feeling because I felt her presence.

Celebrating Earth Day on my Mom's birthday has always been significant to me and even more so now.
Thanks for sharing this moment with me and go tell your parents you love them.

Pelican brief.
What a cool surprise to come across this squadron of brown pelicans at Cannon Beach. Waited for the right moment to get one to fly in front of the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse.
Did you know that East Sand Island, a protected island of the Columbia River near Astoria, holds up to 16,000 California brown pelicans every year following their breeding nights. Pretty cool.
Thanks for sharing this moment with me and have a great week.
