I had such a delightful morning meeting with the members of my Creative Clubhouse. We shared image based on the prompt ‘Space”. As always the interpretations were varied, creative and ogten humourous. I always love to see everyone’s creativity on display!

When I pulled this set up out of my bin to take this photo poor Frodo’s harm had broken off. I had to change the position of all the figures to adjust to no right arm. 😢

Unfortunately this is a fate that befalls many a reddish brown part. Fingers crossed my friends at .bricks can help me find a replacement in excellent shape.

I’m absolutly loving playing with boats and water again. Although I fear my booth will be overflowing with art featuring boat images starting in July.

The toy photography community / hobby has always been a series of transitions. Trends have always been a part of our growth as we push the boundaries of the craft. But the latest trend of photographing figures and then using programs to create the remainder of the image breaks my creative heart.

The output of any creative effort is rarely the goal. The final image, book, painting, poem etc is always satisfying, especially when it comes out well. But that’s not the point of the creative act. It’s what we learn along the way that gives the act meaning. Not only to ourselves, but to others.

This newest trend signals an end for me. I don’t know what that will look like, but this is not something I want to be a part of.

Life is change.
