When light and wind give main character energy on your elopement day ♥️✨️
K & N's day was such a beautiful one, but not their plan A! When some health issues came up we needed to pivot to our plan B and work with the park to get their location changed to an easier adventure. And honestly this year was perfect for it. Normally this spot is still snow covered on their date but because we had snow melt out so early this year, they were actually gifted lush green meadows and tons of wildflowers that I honestly think worked even better for their backdrop.
It was breezy and sunny so we leaned into this vibe for the entire elopement. K's dress was flowy and picked up the wind so nicely that it just gave SUCH a romantic vibe. We hiked to their ceremony spot and were greeted by so many congrats from fellow hikers along the way!
After very sunny, emotional vows with Mount Tahoma standing as witness in the background, it was picnic and portrait time as the sun was going down! The park gave them permission to lay a blanket down in the picnic area so they set up a cute little feast complete with the most delectable carrot cake! And because all of us are a little neuro spicy, we were vocal stimming the entire time and just kept giggling. All the calls in the planning process lead to this moment: where we can just be ourselves, have fun, and you don't even realize I'm taking photos!
And then it was time for my favorite part: sunset and blue hour. The wind picked up and the colors came out. You can't tell but we needed to stop and put on jackets to warm them back up and then move quickly for portraits to keep them warm. But they embraced every bit of it and leaned in for probably some of the most romantic photos I've taken to date. ALL while staying on the trail!! (romantasy vibes anyone??)
