It’s the end of Milky Way season in Alaska. Had to go catch one of the final new moon phases before summer with Daniele Mati Photography and catch some views. One thing about shooting Astro with a slight haze in the sky, is it makes the planets and constellations glow like some crazy orbs :)

As we near the end of February here in Alaska, we have gained over 3 hours of daylight! This means later sunsets that last longer and longer all the way until the equinox! This winter has been bizarre weather wise. I’m excited for the summer season which is right around the corner. I took this today while going for a Sunday cruise down my favorite stretch of road around Anchorage. The Seward highway.

During my workday, I slipped outside for a moment and spotted a Bald Eagle hanging out in a nearby tree, looking ready to pounce on its next meal. I zipped back inside to grab my camera, hoping to snap a photo of the eagle before it flew away. Luckily, I made it back in time to witness the eagle spreading its wings and taking flight.
