Visited Mt. Rainier this week. When I arrived Tuesday morning you could smell the Wildcat fire but it wasn’t really visible yet. The first two photos were taken at 8am Tuesday. By 7-7:30 pm that evening you could see the smoke encroaching (from the left of the frame in the two sunburst shots) a bit. By 6:30 Wednesday morning the sun was rising on and filtered by smoke from the rapidly growing wildfire.

So I just got back from my annual post Labor Day Mt. Rainier jaunt. The first two photos were taken at 8am Tuesday. The second two, with the sun were taken between 7-7:30pm (Sunset) Monday and you can see smoke from the Wildcat Fire begin to encroach on the left of the frame. The fifth photo is From 5:30ish Wednesday morning and the sun is rising in and on wildfire smoke. You could taste it when I headed back home.
