This past weekend’s summer wedding at the Edgewater Hotel was phenomenal. I’m still floored by each detail and moment of Tori and Sam’s memorable day. During one of the toasts, a famous quote from The Office was brought up: “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” Days like this is what it’s all about. The Seattle sunshine, the warm golden hour, the tears of joy and nostalgia, family and friends gathered from all over…truly the best of times.

The amount of disco balls that filled the space let you know it was about to be some good times. Ivy and Gunnar’s wedding had a whole lot of funk and disco music, high energy, and tons of love. Couldn’t have asked for a better day up in Snohomish, especially ending the day with that classic summer time glow here in the Pacific Northwest.

Love and basketball 🏀

This one most definitely hits different. Being able to incorporate a basketball-inspired session into Tiffany and Ben’s elopement day was incredible. As the couple and I are all passionate about basketball, the creative vision felt like second nature. What better way to celebrate their big day than to get a few buckets. Congratulations to the Songs!

Intentional moments set aside during the wedding day is so important. Everything really does feel like 100mph, so incorporating those precious time slots in your schedule to capture moments like these cannot be overstated. April and Marlon’s beautiful wedding at the Edgewater Hotel highlighted the importance of trusting the pace and allowing these special memories to play out.

My approach towards posing couples is actually quite simple. I give some general directions to bring out the authentic you. There is movement. There is dialogue. Even if you feel nervous or shy in front of a camera, I got you. This engagement session with Ivy and Gunnar encompasses all of this, and I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding!

I always enjoy this time of the year where I get to curate, blog, and reflect on some of my favorite weddings. It’s wet and cold in Seattle at the moment , but a quick trip down memory lane this past summer feels good right about now. Sarah and Jon’s wedding on Whidbey Island had so many amazing moments. The way they celebrated their journey and story, honoring their families, embracing all the details…that’s good times right there.
