Feast for Change 2022....happened Saturday night, and I got to photograph it (and eat the amazing food!). The dinner is the annual fundraiser and celebratory event for Project Feast, Project Feast. It is the mission of Project Feast to empower refugee and immigrant cooks, preparing them for employment in the food industry. Project Feast has done much this year with those recently settled from Afghanistan. This has included the many halal meals PF prepared, through their Community Meals program, for Afghan refugees staying at King County temporary housing. What a great night! https://projectfeast.org/

Ravenna Bridge - 3rd Annual JUNETEENTH Tribute. The neighborhood came together for the 3rd straight year to create calk art on the Ravenna Bridge at 20th Ave NE in honor of Juneteenth. Hallelujah! So much more is needed to advance quality between people. I feel like the approach is that this fight will never end. Love the work to support this effort.

Before The Prom...the Bush School has its 'Red Carpet Entrance' where prom-goers walk the red carpet...and I got to photograph it. People had a great time...all dressed up, high energy, fun with friends, proud parents...was great to see, a blast to photograph. This first shoot in black and white show the big scene - me shooting, a lot of family and friends shoot too. Then a few of my fav photos. FIGGY PUDDING - Photographed a 'Mini-Figgy-Pudding' celebration and caroling competition for The Pike Place Market and Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank . Its a fund raiser for the Senior Center & Food Bank at the Pike Market - who do important work in these times, please give at https://www.pmsc-fb.org/ . They took a lot of precautions, and it was great to see people out. The emcees were Seattle's own Shellie Hart and Jim Dever . The singing groups: St. Luke Middle School Choir; Seattle Chordsmen; Hounds of Music; Seattle Metropolitan Singers; Merry Mayham; Marian Ensemble; Emerald City Voices. I miss people gathering to celebrate. Hoping that the humans can overcome Covid so these are easier, bigger, better. Bernese Mountain Dogs - Here are Eiger & Emmy, father and daughter, Swisskissberner . I had a shoot up at Kerry park this week, and while I was setting up, these two were right there on the rail. I asked if I could shoot a few, and got these. They were delightful, so kind, present, content. Was a joy to shoot these. West Coast is Burning...such a dramatic time, California/Oregon/Washington forests are on fire. Tuesday drove to Oregon Coast for drone photography. The smoke I encountered in Oregon was a thick blanket, blocking out the sun. Other worldly. Stayed one night on southern Oregon Coast, got worse. Hard to imagine the amount of fire that created the huge thick layer I saw. This drone photo taken as I cleared out of the most of the smoke, Castle Rock WA, sunset last night.

In May, I flew my drone in to photograph the remains of the Pacific Queen. Its located on private property in Mulilteo. Built in the 1940s, it was towed to a salvage operation at this site in the late 1950s....and entropy has done the rest. Quite a site.

The Vance Creek Bridge has fascinated me. Its on the National Registry of Historic Places. Built in 1929, its the second highest railway arch in the US. It was closed in the 1970s. In recent years, have seen many photographs on social media....its become popular with photographers and thrill-seekers. The owners have taken more of the bridge deck off to try to deter people from climbing on it. Last month, I took a quarantine trip there to photograph it, safely, with a drone....its quite a sight.

Today, artists created a Black Lives Matter sign on the Ravenna Bridge at 20th NE in Seattle....so great to see, here's a flyover....
