š Sometimes I feel so small on social media. Itās easy to get lost in the noise⦠but itās times when I feel that most acutely, that I know itās all the more crucial that I make my voice countāespecially in my business.
Iām thinking about inclusion todayāabout what it means to be a safe haven for anyone who doesnāt fit a narrow āmodelā mold. To tell another beautiful human soul that they are welcomed in your community absolutely.
If youāve been in my sphere for a minute, listened to a class, or even had a 30-second conversation with me, you know exactly how this heart for inclusion guides my work, words, and practices. (And if you havenāt been around for a minuteāhey, yāall, HEYYY!!! šš» Iām Mary Vance, and I canāt wait to meet you!) āØāØSo rather than convincing myself that my voice is too small, or my content doesnāt have a big-enough reach, Iām leaning in and getting proactive! Letās talk about three ways you can embrace inclusion in your business right now. āØ
1ļøā£ Get Loud and Proud! š£ Itās more than just a statement; itās a declaration of your space as a sanctuary for everyone. Whether itās through your blogs, emails, or social media, shout from the digital rooftops that youāre here, you care, and everyone is welcome. This isnāt about ticking boxes; itās about building bridges, understanding, and genuine connection. Let your audience hear, in your words and actions, that they belong.
2ļøā£ Pronouns: A Small Gesture with a Big Impact. š Mastering someoneās chosen pronouns is like learning to ride a bike or, letās say, navigating the new features on an upgraded smartphone. š± It might feel unfamiliar at first, but with a little practice, it becomes second nature. This simple act of respect can have a profound difference in how people feel seen and respected. So, letās make an effort, ask kindly, and use them correctly. Itās a cornerstone of creating an environment where others feel valued.
