She booked this bo***ir session to celebrate turning 40 last year. I FINALLY got around to posting an image (purely because I do not have my act together) and when I looked over her questionnaire I realized that TODAY is her birthday! Eeee! 🙌🎉🍾
She had said… “I want to feel empowered and proud of my body. Would love to really embrace my inner sexy-chic self and shed my normal mountain attire.“
I think we definitely accomplished that.

P.S. If you write “legs” as an answer on the questionnaire of what you like about your body… rest assured, I’ve GOT YOU. Let’s commemorate those gorgeous limbs in art! 😍

There’s a guilt that I never really understood or knew existed until I became a mom. Tell me if you relate.
It follows you around in the moments when you try to take a single breath to regroup.
This guilt sneaks in while serving yourself breakfast, with cries going unanswered a few short minutes that feel like a lifetime.
Or during a bathroom break alone, or an hour-long errand without tiny humans, planned during nap time so they don’t know you’ve left.
Even glancing at your phone, whether to disassociate or plan a park date...
And —whew— the GUILT during a rare self-care afternoon is unparalleled. Showing up and being fully present for THAT is a monumental task.

Guilt feels like this constant whisper that you’re not doing enough. That every moment missed in their childhood is a moment wasted, or you should be doing something more productive for the household. Worried you’ll ruin your precious mini-me forever if you’re not engaged every minute.

But here’s what I’m learning (and it’s HARD to put in to practice): As moms, we are not meant to give all of ourselves away to others 24/7. We NEED to take the moment, the hour, or the afternoon, or even a night (gasp!) away. We need to connect, ground, create, breathe, rest, laugh, and be taken care of.

You are still whole, still worthy, even in the moments you choose yourself.

And it’s okay if you feel lost for a while, grieving the space within your brain, day and calendar that used to exist with more freedom.

It’s normal to feel the guilt. It’s pretty impossible not to feel it when you’re doing a good job as a mom.
Here’s your permission slip to feel the guilt but to also fill your cup as often as you can.

If you need a mom friend and an afternoon away to feel guilty but fulfilled together, my DMs and studio doors are open. I’m not just here to convince you to schedule an empowerment session; I’m also a girl who needs a little treat date once in a while so we don’t feel so alone. Reach out!

You’re an awesome human worthy of all the good this world can offer, even though this timeline is a sh*t show. We’re here now, so we might as well move through it cheering each other on and keep going, right? We need feminine energy and support from as many humans as possible. You are the perfect balance of power mixed with softness. Keep showing up. Even if it means taking care of yourself first, and even if it feels like insignificant action. You make a difference to those in your circle. I’m proud of you.

This lovely human is about to birth a human! Eeee!

As you’re about to embark on this wild ride with a newborn, know that when you’re up in the middle of the night multiple times and feeling like garbage, you can message me at 12am (and 2am 4am and 6am) so I can tell you that your feelings are valid, this is hard, and you are never alone.
Bonus: I can also remind you with photo evidence that you are a hot, confident, and gorgeous babe. It’s okay if it gets buried for a while, you’ll find that piece of you again. 💕 You got this.

I dug these photos out of the archive today from our black sheet mini sessions years ago. 🥰

Happy International Women’s Day!
I am constantly in awe of us.
Women who take up space.
Women who choose to create life.
Women who choose to become a part of the village someone else desperately needs.
Women who show up in a big way even when the society tries to confine us and shrink us.
Women who speak without apology.
Women who create art, are in science, teach, or run businesses.
Women who are irreplaceable. Are loved. Love fiercely. Who boldly grow and constantly learn.
Women who prioritize whimsy. Women who ground. Women who sparkle and rebel.
Keep going. 💕

It’s my birthday! 🙌🥰 2026 is a year I’m excited for and also anxious to see how it unfolds. Among the scary, overwhelming, devastating things happening every day in our country and around the world right now, our family has been intimately celebrating a hope-filled life update: soon bringing another tiny human into the chaos. It feels REALLY weird. But we’re holding on tight to this sliver of light and joy.
✨
To extend some birthday love, I want to celebrate your resilience… so, enter this giveaway that I hastily decided to throw together with hazy pregnancy brain!
⬇️
One winner will receive a FREE empowerment session and the “You Are Enough” collection of 8 digital images + 3 Polaroids. Hair and makeup styling will be an optional upgrade, paid to the artist. Session will take place in May or June.

HOW TO ENTER:
1. Comment and tell me your recent (or upcoming!) transition or accomplishment that you want to commemorate by doing an empowerment photo session. It doesn’t have to feel big to anybody else but you.
2. Bonus entry for past clients: share a favorite image from your photo shoot with me on Instagram or Facebook (and tag me so I see it!)

💕 imagine me now giving you a deep hug as we all navigate through this intense season of life, no matter where you’re at. You’re doing a good job even when you feel like you’re falling apart.

With love,
Amy

Celebrating: 2 years of motherhood.
Derailed any plans I might have made before he showed up.
Allowed me to be present and find joy in small moments.
Showed me my strengths, especially patience.
Tested my relationships. Created new ones.
Twisted my sense of self. Expanded identity.

Neutral body image is still a constant struggle. My tummy is a source of comfort for him, so that’s a helpful reminder that all parts of me are good and beautiful.
Reminding myself constantly that it is always a season. When things are hard, they are also lovely. I am never alone.
He is a beacon of hope in a dark time, and I am so grateful.
