My name is Zack Frank, i'm the creator of Undiscovered America, which started as a Kickstarter project to photograph lesser-known natural wonders that could be future National Parks. America invented National Parks with the establishment of Yellowstone in 1872. Today, our National Park System has grown to over 400 units, including such legendary places as Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Great
Smoky Mountains, Independence Hall, Mount Rushmore, and the Statue of Liberty. With good reason, our National Parks have been called “America’s best idea.”
But our National Park System is far from complete. There are hundreds of priceless landscapes and historic sites that qualify to be new parks. Also, the existing national parks have fallen under the threats of sale, misuse, and even destruction. These landscapes are a limited resource and once their beauty and grandeur is destroyed; they are gone forever. Most of these areas are threatened by mounting development pressures, so now is the time to step up to preserve and protect these irreplaceable treasures. Please join us in advocating for new parks and for the continued preservation of OUR PUBLIC LANDS.
