Purposeful Photography Adventures with Lisa Mize
β€œCreating the extraordinary through YOUR lens.” Illnesses caused me to stop living… I was missing life. I missed too many sunrises, too many sunsets, and too much in between. Through blessings, my illnesses are mostly under control, and now I am living. My burning passion for photography and living an adventuress life is a great combination! Anythin

g outdoors: kayaking down a waterway, hiking along endless trails, listening to the waves crash on the beach while sleeping, biking a gorgeous trail, or just casting off our lines on our boat we live on and see where Puget Sound takes us, but I am doing it all, camera in hand! I love sharing what I see, feel, and experience! I want to inspire others to seek out beautiful places from all over the world! My greatest achievements are my five amazing children, but if I can fan a small fire that is burning inside of you through the images you see in my photographs, THAT will be a wonderful achievement indeed!

I camped up at the Big Bar Lake in the southern Cariboo, BC, Canada last week. What a gorgeous location! I went for a small hike the first night and photographed spotted sandpipers running around the shoreline, watched the sun go down behind the hills and trees, saw the skies turn pink and purple and saw some amazing reflections in ponds and in the lake! I think the cloud reflections were the star of the show!

This AMAZING color caught my eye as I was traveling in BC, Canada last week! It ends up that this is the site of "The L-L Dam at the Highland Valley Copper Mine is a massive earth-fill tailings containment structure located near Logan Lake, British Columbia, Canada. It features a length of 2.5 kilometers and a height of approximately 130 to 170 meters." Crazy!

One of my favorite sunsets at the Coquille River Lighthouse in Bandon, Oregon. It was a beautiful night with hardly anyone around! I was hoping to photograph the milky way from this location later that night as I was staying at the campground, but the park closes and locks the gate down to the lighthouse at night! They were even waiting for me to leave this area to lock the gate behind me after I finished photographing the sunset!!!

🌟 CLASS OF 2027! Your Summer Is About to Get Even Better!

Hey Seniors (and the parents who secretly love this stuff just
as much as you do πŸ˜„),

This is YOUR summer. The one before everything changes. And I
want to help you document it in the most beautiful way possible.

Think about it, you have a golden tan, summer flowers in full
bloom, Pacific Northwest beaches glowing in the most gorgeous
light of the entire year, and absolutely zero homework.
This is THE moment for your senior portraits. Not in a gym with a
backdrop that looks like every other senior photo from the last
twenty years.
OUT THERE. In real light, in real places, looking genuinely like YOU.

Here's what I'm offering this summer:

Sunshine. Wildflowers. Beach light at golden hour. Laughing
until your face hurts. Images that actually look like the person
your family adores and not a stiff, uncomfortable version of you
standing with your arms at your sides!

And...

✨ $50 OFF any senior session booked in JULY or AUGUST! ✨

---

πŸ“… A NOTE FOR PARENTS

I know you've been watching this kid become an incredible human
for seventeen-plus years. I know you have about a thousand blurry
phone photos and one framed school picture from third grade where they refused to smile. πŸ˜‚

THIS is your chance to get the images you've always wanted.
Images you'll frame.
Images you'll cry over at graduation.
Images you will use for graduation announcements.
Images that will sit on the mantle
and on grandma's refrigerator for the next thirty years!

And here's something important to keep in mind, most schools
want senior photos submitted to the yearbook staff EARLY in the
fall semester! That deadline comes up FAST once school starts!
Booking your session this summer means:

βœ… Your student has beautiful photos ready before school even
starts!
βœ… No scrambling, no missed deadlines, no "we should have done
this sooner"!
βœ… And you save $50 when you book for July or August!

πŸ“Έ A NOTE FOR THE SENIORS

Okay, real talk. I know senior portraits sound like something
your mom is more excited about than you are.

But hear me out...

We can shoot at the beach.
In a field of wildflowers.
On a mountain trail.
In your town.
Wherever feels most like YOU!

You pick the vibe, you pick the outfits, you pick the location and
and I'll make sure the light is magic and the photos actually
look cool enough to share!

No stiff poses. No cheesy backdrops. Just you, looking like
yourself, in an incredible setting, at the best time of year
to be outside in the Pacific Northwest!

And your future self will thank you. I promise.

Spots are limited and July and August fill up FAST,
especially with the $50 discount on the line!

This seal just showed up to show us its lunch! It swam right next to our dock and seemed to show Johnny and I its catch of the moment! It seemed so proud as we listened to the crunch of the bones! Can you see the fishes eye? LOL The wildlife at the marina is incredible, though sometimes it can be hard. We had a seal pup born prematurely last week. So sad to watch mamma deal with the loss... Makes me even more grateful to see moments like today's moment. Shilshole Bay Marina Port of Seattle

This is the Baker Beach Viewpoint, just north of the town of Florence, on the Oregon Coast. It was a perfect moment of haze, active waves and just a wonderful soft light. Have you stopped here for the view?

My phone was blowing up all afternoon and evening, telling me of a possible aurora borealis! Sure enough, I went out when it got dark enough and used my cell phone to take a photo...purple skies! It was still too light, so went back in the boat and went back out later to do the same, but then quickly grabbed my camera! It is surely not the best aurora we have ever seen because of the clouds AND the moon rising (on the right side of the images), but seeing ANY part of the aurora brings me joy! Yes, these are long exposures. Yes, these are edited. Yes, I was on a floating dock (if you see any movement). Yes, I love all of the colors!!! I just wanted to share my experience...
