Day 21: What I look for in a photo location

I’ve definitely gotten some weird looks when I take clients to a spot that doesn’t look like much at first.

But I’m not just looking at the surface.

I’ve used trees, flowers, brick walls, old doors, old barns, and so on. The vision is there, I promise.

And somehow, they always turn out 1000x better than expected.

For example, this picture was taken in an alleyway in Forest. It was filled with trash cans, wires, and other things—but with the right angle and light, you’d never know it from the final image.

Day 19: Funny session story

This photo right here… I still laugh every time I look at it.

I told her to put a little ice cream on his face to get a reaction—I was expecting maybe a cheek or forehead.

I counted down, started taking the shot… and she shoved it straight in his nose. 😭

I about died trying not to laugh while also praying my camera stayed in focus and actually caught the moment.

Definitely one of those “you had to be there” sessions.

Day 18: Black & White or Color?

For me personally, it just depends on the photo and the lighting.

Some moments feel better in color because you get all the warmth and detail. Others hit differently in black and white when you really want the emotion to stand out.

It’s all about what fits the moment best.
