This past spring break this year, we made a trip to Sedona and Grand Canyon. We stopped at Sedona and were greeted with a snowfall. The red rocks looked gorgeous blanketed by the snow. Here is a panorama from Rachel’s Knoll that has a gorgeous view and some high energy since it is one of the vortexes in Sedona!

Dead Horse State Park
Let me start off by saying I don’t know why Dead Horse State Park in Utah is a state park and not a National Park ! It is amazing and the views are to die for ! We did the west rim hike all the way to Dead Horse Point and watched the sunset. It did not disappoint!

The Windows trail is really good. Right opposite the double arch, this trail is east and has some really good views. This one is the North Window and the South Window arches. Zoom in to see the people and understand the scale.

Next up is Landscape Arch. It was quite magnificent. It’s an easy walk to this arch. You are no longer allowed to go under this arch since a part of it fell off in the 1991. This arch looks more delicate than delicate arch 😉

Finally done with day 1 of my trip to Utah. Let’s move on ! Utah has 5 National Parks called the Mighty Five. We have done Bryce and Zion before and we did the other 3 in this trip - Canyonlands, Arches and Capitol Reef. You can easily see why these are called the Mighty Five !!

The next few days we explored Arches National Park. I’ll start with my favorite spot (besides Delicate Arch). This is Double Arch and it was one of my favorites. The kids and I climbed up to the little window there and watched the sunset. It was amazing !

Here is another view of Delicate Arch. This panorama shows you the steep decline that is quite daunting for some folks. You do have to be cautious reaching the arch. Some of my friends and family are in the shot too !

We really pushed it on day 1 of our trip. We entered Arches National Park in the evening as we wanted to hike up to Delicate Arch and watch the sunset from there. It was a nice hike and the view was amazing ! We had to hike back in the dark and that was quite an experience!

This is the last stop on the amazing drive into Canyonlands National Park. It’s called the Grand View Point Overlook. The view of the canyons below like fingers of a hand is grand indeed.

This is the view from the Green River Overlook in Canyonlands National Park. The vastness is just incomprehensible ! Even a panorama has difficulty capturing it all - now that’s saying something about the landscape !
