I had a great time while photographing Sarah and Nick’s wedding in Geneva, Illinois!

Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her elegant gown, while Nick was sharp and sophisticated in his classic white coat tuxedo. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple shared a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, providing the ideal backdrop for a truly special celebration. From heartfelt moments to a packed dance floor, everyone had an amazing time honoring the newlyweds.

We snuck away for a quick three-day escape aboard Radiance of the Seas with Royal Caribbean International — two beautiful stops in the The Bahamas and just enough time to recharge.

Here are a few shots I grabbed while wandering the ship — all on an iPhone 13 and some seriously gorgeous light. Proof that the best camera you have is the one you have with you.

This was our 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean and the staff did not disappoint. The dance shows were fantastic, and comedian Louis Ramey absolutely killed it.

Fun little experiment this trip — we skipped the drink package since we were in port 2 of the 3 days… and ended up spending about $10 more than we would have with the package. Lesson learned.

Huge shoutout to our dining hosts, Jamaica & Novelyn, who made every dinner something to look forward to.

Lastly, thank you to our amazing travel agent - We are already thinking about our next cruise.

Olivia and David’s engagement session couldn’t have been a better fit, especially with David being the golf pro there. Having the course mostly to ourselves made it easy to move around and find some great spots . We wrapped up with a couple of drinks at The Grumpy Goat Tavern—a relaxed way to end a good session. I’m looking forward to their wedding at The Haight in Elgin next year.

Katie and Kris’s wedding day started with a ceremony at SS Cyril & Methodius Church in Lemont, followed by a reception at The Bridge in Lemont. Both settings offered a classic backdrop for a day that was full of genuine moments and steady energy. This one was particularly meaningful for me, as I had photographed Katie’s sister, Lauren, when she married Quentin last year. Being welcomed back by the family made the day feel familiar in the best way, and it was a privilege to capture another milestone with them.

Allison and Taylor’s wedding at Morton Arboretum in Lisle was a great blend of natural beauty and thoughtful planning. The grounds, with their manicured landscape and vibrant colors, gave us plenty to work with—especially the tall spruce trees we used for portraits. Their families brought a lot of warmth and energy, and it was clear how much joy there was in blending traditions and celebrating together. It was a relaxed, well-paced day, and a pleasure to photograph.

Summer is already halfway over, and if you haven’t booked your high school senior portrait session yet, now’s the time. Photographers’ schedules fill up quickly as the school year approaches, so it’s best to plan ahead. Don’t miss your chance to get on the calendar and make sure your portraits are done in time.

Sarah and Nick’s engagement session at Cantigny Park took place on the hottest day of the year so far, but we made the call to start early and had the park almost entirely to ourselves. The quiet atmosphere and soft morning light worked in our favor, and they handled the heat without complaint. I also learned they both work for the same company as my daughter—small world. I’ll be photographing their wedding next May at Riverside Receptions in Geneva, and I’m looking forward to it.
