Horseshoe bend 🧲
As promised, here is the view that I had from my previous post. It has nothing to do with a horse, it is just a horseshoe-shaped incised meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, United States. Due to this it is also referred to as the east rim of the grand canyon.

Taking in the views ✨
While coming down from monument valley to the grand canyon I couldn't pass horseshoe bend without spending some quality time there. This picture has some work to it, with an analog film camera you do not want to waste your shots. I carefully composed the shot, accounted for the backlighting, made sure the camera was stable and set the self timer. The result is this shot, no cropping, no leveling. It really takes me back to this beautiful moment.

☀️ Sunny green desert 🏜️
With this post I am looking back at the end of my trip to the superstition mountains in Arizona, near Phoenix. Quite literally. This is the last shot I took on my trusty Olympus that day. I am still astonished about how green the desert can actually be. Covered in tough plants and cacti that survive scorching temperatures nearly all year round. On top of that almost no rain. I'm happy with how my analog picture turned out, got the cactus nicely in focus with a beautiful background blur.

God Rays and Cacti 🌵 ☀️
That's how you can describe the superstition mountains near Phoenix in Arizona. I spent a whole day hiking the area and hiking up to the horseshoe flat. It is amazing to see just how big these cacti can grow in such a harsh environment. I look like a dwarf next to the biggest ones I could find. The first picture shows the morning sun beams casting their light on the cactus in the foreground. Captured on my vintage analog film camera. I am pretty happy with my composition and overall exposure. What do you think?

Sedona’s Soldiers Pass 🏜️🌞
A picture I took while starting my trip on the Trail known as Soldiers Pass. It wanders through Sedona's most iconic red rock country, you probably saw some in your favourite western.
The trail offers fantastic views of features like Coffee Pot Rock and surrounding rock formations and cliffs, and passes by Devil's Kitchen, the area's largest natural sinkhole. The trail provides opportunities for longer hikes and loop hikes in the extensive trail system in the area. For example I picked all the way around to devil's bridge!
On top of that Soldiers Pass Road, a popular jeep road where it turns to dirt at the trailhead, parallels the trail for the first mile or so.

Sedona’s Red Rock Majesty 🏜️🌞
Amidst the vibrant layers of the famous Sedona landscape, I stand in awe at the Devil’s Kitchen. A true testament to nature’s artistry, this sinkhole’s rugged beauty is a sight to behold. Thanks to the self timer I was also able to get myself captured in this setting on an extending piece of rock. Luckily I only looked down after taking the picture 😎

Went on an adventure at Sedona’s Devil’s Bridge. This is a natural sandstone marvel offering breathtaking views and a thrilling walk across the arch. Mind you, you better not be afraid of heights. And yes that's me in the second shot. 🌄🥾

Winging 💨🌊
Caught a glimpse of a windsurfer (wing foiling) challenging the overcast skies while being out with my trusty old Olympus. There’s something raw and real about the scene, especially knowing it’s captured through the authentic lens of a film camera. No filters, just pure adventure against the backdrop of nature. 🌊🏄‍♂️🎞️
