Well, I’m always a day late and a dollar short, but I would be remiss to not celebrate National Rescue Dog Day! 🐾

I’ve met hundreds (if not thousands) of rescue dogs over the 15 years I’ve worked as a shelter photographer, this is just a handful I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with in 2026!

I can’t always put into words how much it means to me to do what I do. Everyone loves an underdog story, but people don’t always remember that there are thousands of underdogs (literally) with stories of their own, some just right up the street from you.

So I’d like to not only celebrate the dogs whose resilience, love, and playfulness have the ability to pull me from my lowest depth and fill my heart to the brim each week, but also to remind people how EASY it is to make a difference.

Donate. Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. Follow rescues on social. Share their stories. Often the smallest acts of kindness repeated are the ones that make the most impact ❤️

I've been up to a lot of fun things lately, but one of my favorite projects was a branding shoot for a local business in Tlaquepaque!

Dulce Sedona is pretty much what dreams are made of! The vibrant colors, bumpin' music, and overall happy atmosphere really make you feel like you are a kid in a candy store - no matter your age. From local chocolate to delicious churro sundaes, everything about Dulce will set your senses into overdrive in the best possible way!

Liz & Ron have built something fabulous, which is evident by a constant line out the door! If you haven't stopped in and picked up a sweet treat, you are really missing out. It was so much fun to work with the Dulce team to capture the essence of what they do.

Now go get yourself some ice cream! 🍦🍨

Happy Halloween, friends!! 🎃

Throwing it back 12 years to when my girl was just a wee thing! She still has her ghost best friend today (Lou) today 👻

Yes, Winnie is a Halloween colored tortie named after a witch (Winifred Sanderson) We’re a bunch of spooky witches in this house, and she’s always been our mischief maker 😅

As a pet photographer I’ve learned over the years to never dress up your cats! You can still get fun and festive photos by dressing up their surroundings with things that will undoubtedly peek their curiosity - which in Winnie’s case is anything and everything (she nosey) It’s all about the props!

I hope you have a fun and festive day! And make sure you keep your pets safe today! 🐾

Say hello to the cutest fall family you've ever seen! 🍂🎃🍁

It's Wanda & her puppies, Coco & Mia! These three were found wandering the streets as strays before they were brought to The Humane Society of Sedona. They've been bunking there for a couple weeks and everyone has fallen in love with them - me included! This is literally these sweetest bunch.

Mama Wanda is a dream dog - and one of the only willing to sport my Halloween gear this year 😂 She can be just the slightest bit shy when you first meet her, but once she gets to know you she is the best girl ever! She loves to be pet and doted upon and when she gets excited she gets the cutest zoomies ever! Wanda is very treat motivated and already knows how to sit (and smile for the camera!).

Mia & Coco are fluffy little balls of energy - as expected! While they do have that puppy energy, they aren't total chaos - y'all know what I mean 😅 They will obviously benefit from some training as they grow, but are already very sweet and sociable. They love to play and they love to be held and snuggled too!

Wanda is about 2 years old and her pups are around 6-8 weeks. They just waiting for someone to adopt them! Help me find this little family a home by liking and sharing this post! And if you're interested in adopting them, call HSS and set up an appointment! 928-282-4679

PS- That photo of Wanda in the bow is one of my favorites ever! The awkward picture day smile is sending me!!! I love what I do ❤

Ohhh My Lanta!!

Two of the most darling girls have arrived at The Humane Society of Sedona and I am shook by their cuteness! Zoey & Daisy Mae are two of the sweetest girls I've ever met. But in all honesty - they are having a hard time in the shelter, and I would love to see them get adopted ASAP!

They are not technically bonded, but they do seem to rely on each other for comfort and support. Daisy Mae is a full-figured gal who is working on shedding a couple pounds so she can feel her best! She is more trusting than her sister, Zoey. If you sit on the ground, Daisy Mae will waddle over to you and get in your lap where she would be content to stay.

Zoey is a little shyer and takes a minute to warm up. Sudden moves and loud sounds startle her easily, but if you can get her to a quiet space and just hang out with her, she calms down and will come over and join Daisy on your lap.

They are really lovely little dogs who are just scared in the shelter. After spending about 20 minutes with them outside, I was able to coax little smiles and tail wags out of them and we ended up having a really good session together. I honestly wanted to pop them in my car and drive home with them...I mean - LOOK AT THEM! 😍

The girls are only 4 years old and have so much life and love to give. Help me help them! Like and share this post and send any interested adopters to HSS!! 🙏

I know pretty much every time I post, I tell you I'm obsessed with the animal I'm introducing you to, and today is no exception!

I met Jack & Jill last weekend at The Humane Society of Sedona and I have not been able to stop thinking about them since! I have always loved beagles and I'm not even sure why. Maybe it's their goofy, floppy ears, or their orneriness, or maybe I just relate to their little shortstack bodies 🤣 Whatever the case, I've had to fight myself tooth and nail to not scoop this dynamic duo up!

Jack & Jill were brought to the shelter when their guardian passed away. It's always so sad to see animals come to the shelter this way. To imagine all they've endured, losing their beloved guardian and way of life to find themselves in a small kennel, just breaks my heart. But I know they are safe and already very loved by the staff and volunteers, and hopefully they won't have to wait long for a home.

Jill (the lighter of the two) is about 9 years old and Jack is about 5 years old. We can only assume that they've been together for a long time, and you can tell how much they love each other, but they have their own distinct personalities!

Jack is the a little more playful than Jill. He will chase a ball or carry around a squeaky toy. Jill is more about lap time and snuggles. Jack loves to go for walks and gives you his best beagle howl while you're leashing him up! They are both overweight and will be on diets at the shelter, so for now they can't go very fast or far, but they do like their time outside.

They are a bonded pair and need to go to a home together. They really are easy peasy love bugs who just need a soft, loving place to land.

Please help me spread the word about these sweethearts! Like and share this post to help their darling faces reach more people! 🙏❤

This head tilt tho!😍

Ooo you guys! I have a new squishy girl who I'm obsessed with!! It's DOT! 😍

She is a recent transfer to The Humane Society of Sedona from another shelter, and I hear that she was at her previous shelter for many many months. I truly don't understand how, because this baby girl is pure LOVE!

Dot is a 3 year old pittie who just loves people and wants to be part of a family so badly. She is calm, but playful, and is very gentle despite her muscular stature. Her tail is pretty much always wagging, and her beautiful amber eyes hold so much desire to be loved. The longing in them is palpable.

Not only is beautiful, but Dot loves kids! She does well with children and really likes to be involved in all family activities. She also loves belly rubs which is 100% okay with me!

Help me spread the word about this beautiful girl! Like & share this post! And if you're interested in this sweetie pie, contact HSS!

Happy Monday! There’s nothing like a little pup to bring a little sunshine to your day!

Chase is a gorgeous little guy who is available at The Humane Society of Sedona - although I doubt he will be for much longer! He was abandoned in a box at a food bank with his two siblings a few weeks ago. HSS scooped them up and got them into a foster home until they were big enough to be fixed.

His two siblings have been adopted, and I know Chase’s turn is right around the corner- I mean, look at that face. Those eyes! That lil tongue!

I hope he makes your Monday a little brighter! 🙏✨

Just here to make you smile 🌟

This is Butch. He is 10 years old and was found as a STRAY - can you believe that?! He landed at The Humane Society of Sedona where he waddled and snorted his way into my heart! ❤️

Butch doesn’t hear or see well, suffers from dry eye has a tongue that won’t go in his mouth, and had a bunch of rotten teeth extracted - but damn, is he perfect or what?!

It took Butch all of a day to get adopted (DUH) but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share him with you and help you get through your Friday with a little smile 😜

Thankful for all the homeless animals who allow me to get to know them on their very vulnerable journeys to happiness 🍁 I’m in love with each and everyone of their stories, personalities, and goofy little faces. I feel so privileged to be a small part of their world.

I have not been very present on here lately, but that doesn’t mean I’m not busy pouring my soul to animal welfare! My new marketing venture has kept me quite busy between contract work and working towards a couple of professional certifications. I’m loving all I’m doing and learning and plan to use all my experience to provide further outreach and services to causes near and dear to my heart 🐶

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! May this day bring rest for your body and love to your heart 🧡
