This little mama is now snuggling her precious baby boy, and my heart is so happy for her. 🤍

I had been dreaming up a country-western maternity session for years, just waiting for the right mama to bring the vision to life. Cammy was absolutely perfect. Growing up around horses, she looked completely at home in the barn and somehow managed to climb fences at 38 weeks pregnant like it was no big deal—while I was over here moving manure out of the way and trying not to trip. 😂

The second I found this Kacey Musgraves bandana top, I knew the whole look was going to come together exactly how I had imagined. Add in the horses, the golden evening light, and one effortlessly cool mama, and it became one of those sessions I’ll never forget.

Now, knowing that she’s holding her sweet little cowboy in her arms makes these photos even more special. Cammy, you are absolutely beautiful inside and out, and I’m so grateful you trusted me with this vision. Congratulations on your baby boy—I have no doubt you’re already the most amazing mama. 🤎

This morning, as I dropped off my youngest at school, I never imagined I’d start crying as I said goodbye. But as I watched him walk through that gate and turn around one last time to say, “Bye Mommy, I love you,” I realized this chapter of our lives at this school had quietly come to a close and the weight of that change hit me all at once. I fell to pieces.

I immediately walked over to another mom friend, and without needing many words, she handed me a tissue. We stood there weeping together over the same feeling the bittersweet ache of watching our children grow and knowing time keeps moving no matter how tightly we try to hold onto these moments.

All I can say is this: Moms, wherever your next chapter leads you, whatever new schools your children may be starting next year, make sure you find your village. Find the people who will stand beside you, hand you the tissue, and hold you together in the moments you feel like you’re falling apart.

I’m so proud of this gallery, it’s got a whimsy to it that I can’t help but adore. This Momma and her five children were so much fun to photograph. While the tones of fall have always been my favorite there’s something about spring I’m falling more in love with every year. What’s your favorite season for photos?

This was my first time having a request for a dog inside my studio for a maternity session, and I gladly accepted. As a dog mom myself I totally get that these pups are often our very first children, and they’ll always be an important part of the family.

I’ll be honest trying to keep up with the editing for all the many beautiful spring sessions I’ve been having lately while my house is also on the market is quite a feat. Life is oh~so~full, but I could not be more grateful for all of you who honor me with the privilege of documenting your story. Thank you for your patience as I juggle all of my roles. 🕊️ 🤍
