You guys, sometimes my job is so easy. Meet the Guglielmo Clary family. Laura and her husband and boys are long time clients of mine and when she asked me to photograph her extended family I jumped at the chance. They were so much fun to be around and it turns out that her sister in law knows MY future sister in law, so it felt like one big reunion. Thanks to them for being willing to be silly and for sharing their love with me!

I always appreciate people with foresight.

My wonderful friend asked me to take some photos when her extended family was in town last week, and I was so happy to spend time with them. Maybe they wouldn't notice one more "cousin" at their next reunion?

I love having the chance to document families that have such authentic pleasure in being together. It's truly a privilege.

Happy Monday! Ok, I know that's not the usual thing you hear, but if you're already missing the weekend, let me cheer you up with this amazing session I had this weekend! These two lovebirds are tying the knot this summer and I had the best time with them and some of their children, taking some engagement photos. Getting to document their genuine affection and connection, and their joy in being together and telling me their story just made my spring. Enjoy, and congratulations Jeanie and Max! 💞

Happy Friday! I saved the best for last...

Photo Tip #5: Get in some shots yourself

I can’t say enough how important this has become to me over the years: I want to be in my kids’ memories in later years, so I have to be in the photos too. Messy hair, ageing skin, post-pregnancy belly, and all. You are one of the most significant people in the life of your child, so get out in front of the camera. Set the self timer, hand off the camera to your spouse or a stranger, hang it from a branch or set it on the gas grill, but just do it. These are the photos your family will treasure in the years to come. They are the ones that reflect the way things really were and preserve those moments. And we can’t ask for anything more from our photography than that.
