One of the biggest worries parents have before a newborn session is: “What if my toddler won’t cooperate?”
Here’s the good news: sibling photos don’t require perfection.
The sweetest images often happen in the in-between moments, a gentle touch on baby’s cheek, a curious peek at tiny fingers, or a spontaneous hug from a proud big brother or sister.
A few simple ways to help your session go smoothly:
• Talk about the session beforehand
• Protect nap time
• Bring snacks and comfort items
• Let siblings feel important and included
• Focus on connection, not perfection
As a newborn photographer, my goal isn’t to create stiff poses. It’s to preserve the love, wonder, and relationship that’s already growing between your children.
Years from now, you’ll treasure those genuine moments far more than a perfectly posed smile.
What was your oldest child’s reaction when they first met their new sibling? Tell me below!
