Yellow-rumped Warbler in Breeding Colors - Silver Lake, WA - Interesting Facts About the Audubon’s Yellow-rumped Warbler - It is one of the few warblers that can eat waxy berries. Most warblers are almost entirely insect eaters, but Yellow-rumped Warblers can digest the wax coating on berries such as wax myrtle and bayberry. This ability allows them to winter much farther north than most warblers.

A big thank you to Nancy LeBlanc and her 2nd grade class at Franklin Elementary in Port Angeles for inviting me and Kryz to show The Rescue of Eddie & Elliott - A Bald Eaglet Adventure video, and to talk about how the community came together to rescue and return these little guys to their nest. They read my book prior, and of course they had lots of questions and were eager to learn. And we had some other fun images and videos to show them as well. This was our third year in a row presenting there, and it is always the highlight of my year. Nothing is more rewarding than teaching! "Radiant Gradient" - Steptoe Butte Sunset - Steptoe Butte State Park, WA - This was pretty intense to see from our vantage point. I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. It was a treat!! KOMO News shared this on their weather report on the news. That is nice to get more exposure. :)

White-crowned Sparrow - Gardiner, WA - Watch out! It is Baby Time!! Watch your step folks. We were walking in our property and saw a couple White-crowned Sparrows who looked visibly upset and were not flying away as we walked towards them on our trail in the woods. As we stood there taking pics I was about to step forward when Kryz stopped me. Look at this cute little chick, that was on the trail in the grass. So glad she saw it. So if you see birds acting crazy, watch your step. You never know!

Zebra Swallowtail on Lilac - Gardiner, Washington - After a week in The Palouse we came home to blooming Lilac and a couple Zebra Swallowtail Butterflies. Nice to be home, but wow what a trip that was!! Will be posting Palouse pics for a while on Keith's Frame of Mind page. :)
