EDIT: I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE ELSE FOR THE πππππ REVIEWS! You keep me going and I truly appreciate every one of you!
This will be pinned on my page.
Let me clearly explain my non-refundable, non-transferable retainer policy.
Its pretty simple!
If a client cancels their session for any reason, they lose their $200 retainer.
Non-transferable means the deposit cannot be moved to another date if you cannot make it to your scheduled appointment. You arent allowed to appointment hop and take up multiple days on my limited schedule.
You have to pay another deposit to book. Simple.
I work only 3 days per week at my studio. If you dont show up, I am out whatever your balance is and you are out of a retainer.
Thats how my business works.
If I have to reschedule your appointment for any reason, of course I will transfer your retainer. If you cannot reschedule, of course I will refund your deposit. This is IF I am the one who has to reschedule your session.
Heres an example- last week, the air went out at my studio. I had to reschedule my 3 days of sessions to this week (my vacation was supposed to start this week so I had time off). Everyone was able to move except one. The one who couldnt reschedule, of course I refunded their retainer.
Another example- Back in March, we had a severe weather warning for dangerous winds (turned out to be nothing). My client reached out to see about rescheduling. I moved her and the client who was booked the same day to a date in April. Since I agreed to reschedule due to the safety of my clients, I transferred those deposits, obviously.
One client showed up to her session in April, the other one (who contacted me wanting to move due to weather) emailed and asked to reschedule (transfer deposit) ..again. NO. NO. NO. READ THE TERMS!
I went to work that day for one client, one lost.
Heres the kicker- She booked another session without sending a deposit. She was told to send another deposit. She didnt. I canceled that appointment.
THE INFORMATION CLIENTS RECEIVE WHEN BOOKING explains my policy. There is NO back and forth in my crazy emails. Ive spent SO much time building my website with a slew of information and spelling EVERYTHING out in my booking info to address any concerns.
A couple of years ago, I took off work and put an entire month into my website and booking info so I dont have to sit and do emails. Like I state in my websites FAQ, I dont charge enough for this!
I laid out my terms very clearly so s**t like this doesnt happen. But here we are, a 1 star review.
If you have to cancel, you have directions on how to do it so I will receive the notification that you canceled and it takes your session off my schedule. This didnt happen. Instead, I received an email the day before her session asking to reschedule. Directions weren't followed.
My emails show that she emailed me the day before her session, hers show shes emailed several times to reschedule. Whether they went to spam or disappeared into the abyss, who knows.
Either way, I DONT TRANSFER DEPOSITS IF YOU CANT MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
RETAINERS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. You check the box when you book.
She left me a 1 start google review. Screenshots in comments.
It seems to me that everyone understands my non-refundable, non-transferable policy except this one star Google reviewer whom I've never worked with.
I genuinely cannot make this policy any clearer and this bitch can kick rocks. I have had this policy in place for at least 15 years.
Report me to management, Karen. π
