Spoiler alert: photo sessions aren’t just about stiff poses and forced smiles! They’re about capturing the real, raw vibes of your love story. 🌿✨

Let’s embrace those little moments—like that time you stole their fries or that goofy dance-off in the living room. Trust me, those are the memories you’ll cherish the most!

When you join me for a session, we’re all about the fun, no filter needed. It’s like a chill hangout with your fave person(s), and I just happen to be there to document it. Imagine running around, sharing those goofy smiles, and just being yourselves—totally unfiltered!

So, if you’re ready to ditch the stiff poses and show off your love in its rawest form, let’s make some magic together.

Book your session and let’s turn your candid moments into forever memories! 📸💕

I don’t care if this is considered ICK or Cringe; I stand by my belief that everyone deserves beautifully documented moments of their life. As a family photographer based in Show Low, Arizona, I’m passionate about capturing genuine smiles, laughter, and the small, tender moments that make life special.

Photography can sometimes be an added expense that feels out of reach. That’s why I want to offer a unique solution: I’m open to trading my photography services for items or services that would benefit my off-grid family. Whether you have extra homestead supplies, hay for my horses, or gardening materials, I would love to discuss a trade.

Additionally, I appreciate self-care and well-being, so if you provide massages or hair and beauty services, I can offer you a photography session in return. I’m also open to ranch hand labor, mechanic services, equine services, landscaping, and anything else you think might be useful for my family.

Let’s work together to create lasting memories while sharing our skills and resources! Reach out, and let’s make something beautiful happen.

It’s true I’m tell you my secret on how to capture genuine smiles.

First off, it begins with building a client Photographer relationship. I wanna know who’s in front of my lens with the dynamics of the family are I wanna know your favorite pastime, the things that you currently enjoy doing together. I wanna know what your partner does to make you smile. I ask a lot of these questions in my questionnaire during the booking process.

The next most important thing is planning the session around your ideas and thoughts. I use a lot of the information from the questionnaire to make a list of prompts and interactions that. I want you to have during the session as well as with families, the different variations of groups and relationships. So by all means be super thorough when you fill this out.

I spend a lot of the time during the session, cutting up jokes and making everybody laugh and chat and relax.
With kids my most important focus during a session to get genuine, smiles, and expressions is to let them play. Creating an atmosphere for them to let loose and be silly. I like to prepare mom and dad ahead of time that those things are OK during photo sessions with me. In fact I encouraged them.

OK, I’m rambling now…

1. I get to know my clients through a questionnaire.

2. Plan the session. Taking the information from the questionnaire to plan prompts and fun interactions.
I don’t “POSE” and I’ll NEVER ask you to “say cheese”!
in fact, don’t even look at the camera unless I ask you to.

3. Create an atmosphere where everyone feels like they can be themselves have fun and interact with each other.

4. And lastly, taking the photos watching for those moments between one activity to the other. And keeping the flow of the session going.

We have several things to go over such as; the location you are interested in, when the best time for your session is, and what type of photos you are interested in doing ( individual portrait, family, maternity, etc.) so we will already be chatting about what your looking for. But the most important tool I use to get to know who I’m photographing is my …

Questionnaire:
Because every session is different, I will send you a questionnaire to gather all the information I need to get to know who I’m working with. This is one of the most important parts of planning your session. Might seem silly but…. I need information like what kinds of things are your kiddos into and what are their relationships with each other? Who is a mommas/daddy’s- boy/ girl? Who do I have to bring out of their shell and who is the ham of the family? For couples; What things do you enjoy together? How do you want your love story documented?
The questionnaire is how I get to know you, so when your session day comes I know who’s going to be in front of my camera.
I also use this information to plan out prompts and different ways I can get everyone interacting with each other. It makes it easier to personalize the session and the experience to you.

Here are the five biggest mistakes horse owners often make when planning an equine photo shoot:

1. **Lack of Preparation for the Horse**:
Many owners underestimate the time it takes to groom and prepare a horse for a photo shoot. Ensuring the horse is clean, brushed, and shiny can make a huge difference. Proper grooming, including mane and tail, contributes significantly to the final outcome of the photos.

2. **Poor Choice of Location**:
Selecting a location without considering the background and surrounding environment can detract from the photos. Overcrowded areas, distracting elements, or unsuitable footing for the horse can lead to challenges. Aim for a picturesque and safe setting that complements the horse’s coloring and demeanor.

3. **Not Considering the Weather and Timing**:
Ignoring the impact of weather conditions and timing can result in less-than-ideal lighting and comfort for both the horse and the photographer. Planning for the best time of day (usually early morning or late afternoon) and checking weather forecasts can ensure optimal conditions.

4. **Inadequate Communication with the Photographer**:
Failing to communicate specific goals, preferred poses, and expectations with the photographer can lead to disappointing results. Prior discussions about the horse’s temperament, any special requests, and desired shots ensure everyone is on the same page.

5. **Overlooking Horse Behavior and Comfort**:
Not allowing sufficient time for the horse to relax and adjust to the environment can affect their behavior and the overall experience. Horses may need breaks, patience, and sometimes familiar objects or people to feel at ease. Rushing or neglecting their comfort can result in tense or agitated expressions.

Avoiding these common pitfalls can contribute to a successful and enjoyable equine photo session that captures the unique bond between horse and owner beautifully.
