150 Bird Challenge: 102/150 Common Yellowthroat

The song this little warbler makes, is SO loud! But it’s also very beautiful. Once you hear it, you’ll know it going forward that there’s a yellowthroat around.

For the year of 2026, I set myself a challenge to photograph 150 different species of birds and document them here.
There are a few rules:
•Birds must be clear and identifiable and,
•Birds must be in a natural setting. (no feeders in photo)
Follow me if you aren’t already, and lets see 150 birds this year!

150 Bird Challenge: 101/150 Yellow-headed Blackbird

What a cool species of blackbird. I don’t see a lot of them very often, but they are so striking. They make some really unique and beautiful sounds, typical of black bird fashion.

150 Bird Challenge: 100/150 Chestnut-sided Warbler

In typical warbler fashion, this lil guy was so dang fast and hard to get a photo of. But I just love their coloring, and it’s always fun to see warblers during migration.
Also, bird 100?! That means we’re two thirds of the way through the challenge, and only have 50 more species to go 🥳

150 Bird Challenge: 99/150 Philadelphia Vireo

This bird was so adorable and seemed so curious of me. I don’t see many vireo species so this was a fun one to add to my lifer list. And speaking of my lifer list, I had set a mini challenge to find 20 new birds this year, and I succeeded! So I’m adding on to the challenge to make it 25.

150 Bird Challenge: 98/150 Magnolia Warbler

What a stunning bird. That yellow just pops against the black and grey. The white wing patch marks this as a male!

150 Bird Challenge: 97/150 American Redstart

I was able to get some photos of the male and female redstarts! These are very spunky, very fast little birds. And despite not having warbler in their name, they are in fact a warbler species.

For the year of 2026, I set myself a challenge to photograph 150 different species of birds and document them here.

150 Bird Challenge: 96/150 Tennessee Warbler

I found a fall of Tennessee Warblers in the park near my house and they were so very acrobatic. They seemed to be nibbling the tiny young cones on the tree and it was so fun to watch.

150 Bird Challenge: 95/150 Northern Yellow Warbler

You can’t get much more yellow than a Yellow Warbler. That color is so rich and beautiful, they are definitely one of my favorite warbler species.

150 Bird Challenge: 94/150 Ruby-throated Hummingbird

It’s so difficult to catch that Ruby gorget! I still really love how this shot came out, but that chin can flash so much brighter and beautifully so it’s definitely my mission to capture that.

150 Bird Challenge: 93/150 Orchard Oriole

Orioles tend to not like human presence in my experience, and the Orchard variety even more so in particular. They are very elusive compared the Baltimore but I still see them come and grab some jelly now and again. I really love that rusty orange color. Also pictured is a juvenile male and a really cute female.
