If you haven’t been to the newly remodeled National Geographic Museum of Exploration, put it on your list. The National Geographic Museum of Exploration has reimagined what a museum is and can be. It’s not cheap, so plan for several hours there. You won’t be disappointed. Lots of interesting displays and experiences, starting in the courtyard, continuing to the floor of the reception area, and including special talks and events. I was there last week for “Coffee with an Explorer,” a fascinating chat with Mackenzie Calle, a NatGeo Explorer and photographer who had the cover image of the July issue of the magazine. A real kick to talk with her about her experiences!

“That’s why I’m going to be a mermaid when I grow up.” Do you stop when you see peeling paint on an old building? I do. Especially when there’s an old piece of art hanging on for dear life. Shot on a walk through Portsmouth with my iPhone using Adobe’s Project Indigo app.

“Look Away.” Talk about ignoring the elephant (or jester) in the room! From the Whitney Biennial.
