For anyone who has a Nikon Z50 II and is looking for a nice Replacement Hooded Eye Piece to replace the flat original, JJC make a great one!

This is my review of the JJC Extended Eyecup/Eyepiece Viewfinder for the Nikon Z50 II.

Flat, factory eyepieces aren’t ideal for shooting in some situations, sunlight sneaks in, glare washes out the view, and the experience just isn’t great. Many photographers turn to aftermarket eyecups, but the Z50 II has two tiny screws holding the OEM piece in place, and until now, no one offered an extended replacement.

JJC finally stepped in, and because they consistently make solid accessories, I grabbed this the moment I saw it.

The kit includes everything needed to remove the original eyepiece and install the extended version: instructions, a small screwdriver, two plastic pry tools, and the eyecup itself.

Installation is simple. The only real tip is during removal when you pry off the OEM eyepiece, you’ll need to pry it toward you with firm pressure using the 2 provided plastic pics. It will pop off, and the included diagram helps you understand the motion.

The new eyepiece slides on easily with no need to reuse the screws.
As you can see in the photos, the extended design provides excellent shielding and protection from stray light.
