Summer sunset minis are back💛🌅

This is the 3rd year I have offered summer sunset minis (and now an extended session)

When: all summer long (dates available via link)

Where: each session will have a different location. Some of my favorites include Lake Alvin, big Sioux Rec, family park, good earth, and Dunham park!

What type of sessions:
Ummm hello, give me it all. Doesn’t matter if you are coming with 10 people or yourself, tell me your vision and I’ll capture it with the time we have💛

Unlike typical minis, these sessions are spread throughout it the summer, so each specific sunset is dedicated to you.

Mini: 25 mins | 20 digitals
Full: 60 mins | 100 digitals

Milestone session🤍

Yes my clients book these sessions around the 6 month or 1 year mark in their child’s life, to document their child’s growth, but to me it’s a little bit more than that.

Not only does their babe grow but their dynamic changes too. Kids start to move, parents adapt.

They chase their littles, wipe their scraped knee when their toddler falls down, or snuggle if their babe starts their session a little apprehensive.

Siblings can interact more at each milestone, and their bond forms, something that typically takes work and time. It’s amazing to see the change in siblings from their newborn session to the one year session.

Siblings start playing together, loving on each other, and relying on each other for emotional cues.

When I photograph milestones, I will always try and get that frame worthy smiling shot, but in reality you can’t plan it.

I tell my clients to go with the flow, focus on their kids, making them happy, and interacting and I will work around them.

Never forced, sometimes guided.
Your bond writes the story I photograph, and if you stop and really think about it, it’s an irreplaceable experience.

It’s a chance to freeze time, freeze the bond, and keep it close for a little bit longer🤍

Happy Mother’s Day.

My heart gravitates towards women and mothers, and a day to honor them is a day well spent.

I was raised by a strong independent mom who did it all on her own, and lived life selflessly.

My grandma took countless families into her home, cooked for them, and raised their children.

I am lucky to have been raised by such strong yet caring people.

And as a single mom, I know myself that motherhood is more than what meets the eye.
It’s not just raising small human, it’s encouraging them to use their voice, learn right from wrong, see them through emotions, watch them navigate friendships and real life experiences. It’s complex and forever changing.

Moms wake up each morning and despite anything happening in their world, think of their kids first. The plan the day, worry about futures, juggle activities, and hold the home together. Often times moms do this, with a smile on their face even if they are tired or run down, because yet again they are thinking of their kids. Moms deserve to be celebrated because they are the glue.

So whether it’s with flowers, a brunch, your actions, or your words, tell your mom, or tell A MOM, that you are proud of her.

She deserves to hear it.🤍

Roots.
We all know where we come from is important. In some way it shapes you, even if it’s a distant place.

I think one of the coolest realities of fate is hearing how a birth place can bring two people closer.

I have heard many different stories of how people have come together, and the ways they bond.
I have heard the things they hold dear and love, but the one of the most beautiful stories involve these two.

I will always hold onto seeing how much these two share and honor their roots, culture, and traditions with such dignity and grace.

Documenting pieces of clothing that represent their culture during their engagement session was a must, and a small glimpse into the color, joy, and dance that took over their wedding day.🤍

Me and Brea had a brief moment after first looks where we discussed loved languages, I talked about how I heard single moms can have multiple. She agreed.

We get so used to doing things alone, being responsible for most, and putting ourselves aside that it’s almost shocking when people carry the weight for you.

It means so much, when someone like Turner comes into your life and just does the things you have had to, without asking. It means so much when someone thinks of you because you didn’t yet have the chance to.

It puts the simple moment into perspective and makes them feel intentional.

For someone like turner, those acts of kindness go without thinking, they come so naturally, but when your like Brea or myself, you never expect it.

Love can look like alot of different things, but seeing Brea feel safe, confident, admired, and cared for gave me hope and was beautiful to watch. I am so happy that everything in her life lead her to this new beginning
