I adore fall. The first weekend in October is especially my favorite, because it's the time of year of my own wedding anniversary. So you can imagine how excited I was for Matley and Nash's wedding last weekend!

The day was warm and beautiful, and the two of them held an intimate destination wedding ceremony on the lookout at Gavin's Point in Yankton. When you imagine a romantic, perfect wedding ceremony, this is exactly what comes to mind. It was stunning to witness and such an honor to photograph these two caring, incredible souls join their lives in marriage.

The day went by so quickly, and it as such a delight photographing Matley, Nash, their siblings, and all of their loved ones on a picture-perfect day. Here are some highlights from the best day ever! (And happy birthday, Matley!)

I spent a perfect fall evening mid-week with Kaylei and Zach in Brookings for their engagement session. They chose to have their photos taken in the same park where Zach proposed. The two joked that the weather was a bit nicer that day than when they got engaged (Zach popped the question in December.) I know that December day was perfect in other ways, though!

It's tough narrowing down photos to share when the couple is as photogenic and adorable as these two, but here are some highlights from our time together. I'm so looking forward to their wedding in DeSmet next fall!

The last official Saturday of summer has come and gone, and it was the perfect day for a destination wedding between Mackensi and Leighton.

Kensi had scoped out a stunning location to do a first look with her husband-to-be, but the only way she could safely trek to the spot was to ditch her heels and do it barefoot! I love a bride with an adventurous heart. The wind in Chamberlain didn't disappoint and assisted in some pretty epic portraits between the two on the scenic overlook spot.

Here are just some highlights from the day that resulted in so, so many gorgeous moments. Congratulations, Kensi and Leighton! I had so much fun with you and your wedding party!

My Labor Day weekend was spent in quaint Jasper, MN for a destination wedding of sorts. Shawna and John live in Colorado and met through a dating app, only to find out that they each have roots in the greater Sioux Falls area. So this wedding was definitely a destination for them and many of their guests, but they held their celebration in a very familiar venue to Shawna's family.

It was so much fun exploring the sights of small town Minnesota with this kind, laid-back couple and their incredible wedding party. Here are some highlights from their day!

You couldn't have asked for a more perfect summer day for Rachel and Alexander's wedding yesterday! It's always a treat to see what unique touches my couples bring to their celebrations, and these Cross Country and Track stars had a wonderfully personalized day that was infused with their interests, faith, and love of family.

I told Rachel and Alex that I could have photographed them ALL DAY, and that wasn't an exaggeration. It was so much fun working with them and their wedding party that the time we had allotted for portraits in the park absolutely flew by. When you're hanging out with people who feel like friends, it makes my time feel like play! From the amazing couple to their caring parents and family who took the time to thoughtfully work with me to ensure the day went off without a hitch-- you couldn't ask for a better wedding day. Congratulations to an incredible couple!

Summer wedding season is in full swing, and I was happy to travel out of state to North Dakota at the beginning of August for a little change in scenery for Katie and Lucas's wedding. The weather was a pleasant 70 degrees on Lake Elsie for their wedding, which was absolutely perfect for their lakeside outdoor wedding and reception!

Katie and Lucas are a couple who make you feel like you've been friends forever when you've only just met them. They're both warm with easy smiles and great senses of humor. Their day absolutely FLEW by because we were so busy laughing and enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery of their venue! I'm so grateful to have spent the day with them, enjoying the yummy cake pops at their reception, and documenting their first sunset together as husband and wife. Congratulations, you two!

Last Saturday had a bit of a stormy start, but the weather cleared up just in time for Hannah and Zac's beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony! Hannah had always dreamed of getting married on the golf course, so she and Zac exchanged vows on the fifth hole at The Pointe in Elk Point, SD. Documenting Hannah and Zac getting married on the course which held so much significance to them was such an honor, and the grounds of the course made a stunning backdrop for an afternoon of photos, too. Despite the extreme heat, we had a ton of fun together and were thankful for the golf carts to transport the wedding party to the reception without having to break (much of) a sweat!

It's always a treat and an honor to reconnect with a past bride by photographing another wedding within her family. Last weekend, I traveled to Le Mars, Iowa to e̵a̵t̵ ̵i̵c̵e̵ ̵c̵r̵e̵a̵m̵ photograph the wedding of Brooke (younger sister of my previous bride, Madison) and her now-husband Colten.

We had sunny skies, lots of laughs and heart-felt moments, a rousing live band, plus stunning vintage cars to round out Brooke and Colten's memorable wedding day. I'm so thankful I was invited back to celebrate with the couple and their families and friends. But believe me-- it was so difficult to narrow down which photos to include in this sneak preview, because just LOOK at these two! I don't think it's possible for Brooke or Colten to take a bad photo!

Congrats to you both, and enjoy your well-deserved honeymoon!

It's always a treat and an honor to reconnect with a past bride by photographing another wedding within her family. Last weekend, I traveled to Le Mars, Iowa to e̵a̵t̵ ̵i̵c̵e̵c̵r̵e̵a̵m̵ photograph the wedding of Brooke (younger sister of my previous bride, Madison) and her now-husband Colten.
