Remembering the late Don Hogan Charles, American photographer - the first African-American photographer hired by The New York Times .

Don was born on this day, September the 9th, in 1938.

Don Hogan Charles helped document the civil rights movement in the US and captured iconic imagery of many notable subjects such as Coretta Scott King, John Lennon, Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali during his four decades with the Times .

My photo book now has an ISBN and Library of Congress Control Number. It's been through several rounds of proofing, and I'm tantalizingly close to submitting it to the printer.

Creating the Sioux Falls Artists & Entrepreneurs photo book has definitely been exhausting, but it's also very exciting. Just doing a final review and assigning ISBN and barcode now, and planning to have it off to the printer in a couple of days.

UPDATE: Thanks to an amazing friend, this is now taken care of!

Sioux Falls peeps: anyone with access to a warehouse where I can have 1,000 copies of my photo book delivered a couple of months from now? I would only need to store them for a brief time while I transfer them to a more permanent location.
