Let's take a break for live music and take a trip back to last summer for Throwback Thursday when my good friend Bryan Janosick and I stopped by the massive Rockhouse Natural Bridge, also known as Creelsboro Natural Bridge. This is one of the largest natural bridges in the state of Kentucky with a span of 104 ft and a massively thick deck that is several feet wide. On top of the bridge is an ancient native American burial mound that also sports an incredible view of a horseshoe bend in the Kentucky River and the flood plain of nearby Clinton County.

Continuing with Creekside Stage features at the Laurel Cove Music Festival we were all treated by an outstanding set by Oliver Sayani and his band on Saturday afternoon! Earlier on Thursday I enjoyed a great conversation with Oliver after an invite only performance of Jordan Lee King being filmed by Musical Moonshine. It was a pleasant surprise when I found out he would be performing on Saturday and I tell you, he certainly didn't disappoint!

We are at the final post of Laid Back Country Picker's outstanding Creekside Stage performance at the 2026 Laurel Cove Music Festival! I’ve been spreading out photographs of the show over three posts in celebration of David and Teresa Prince having their names added to the Lawrence County Country Music Highway sign along US 23! Day one I featured Honey, Day two I featured Laid Back, today I feature them together. Not only is a Laid Back show an awesome experience, but they are two of the kindest folks you’ll ever meet. I didn’t get as many photographs of them on stage together because my lens wasn’t wide enough, but I think I came away with a few that I think catches them at their best. Congratulations you two and thank you for being so awesome! They will be on a tour of the Midwest starting July 9th at The Burl in Lexington, tour link in comments. Get out there and catch them live and get your rawk on!

Welcome to the Laurel Cove Music Festival’s Laid Back Country Picker ’s Creekside Stage set post number 2! For the Laid Back Laurel Cove feature I am doing 3 posts to celebrate David and Teresa’s names being added to the Lawrence County County Music Highway Sign along US 23 in eastern Kentucky! Yesterday I featured Honey, tonight I’m featuring Laid Back. Honestly, their performance was not only a high point of the Creekside Stage, but of the whole weekend. David is a master of the guitar and it shows. Rallying the crowd with takes on classic rock and roll and original songs, he injects humor into both the songs he plays and his stage banter. The highlight was LB’s Truth where while shredding an extended 10 minute guitar solo he walks amongst the concert goers allowing them to get up close and personal. Check out these scenes of Laid Back Picker in his element!

Here come some Laurel Cove pics! My first featured images from this incredible festival are those of Laid Back Country Picker 's and Honey's killer Saturday evening set at the Creekside Stage! Not only will tonight's post feature photos from their performance, tomorrow's and Wednesday's will too! Why? Because there's something to celebrate! Last week David and Teresa Prince, aka Laid Back and Honey had their names added to the Lawrence County Country Music Highway sign along US 23 in eastern Kentucky. Congratulations you two! It is so well deserved! And besides that it was Teresa's Birthday yesterday, so tonight we get to enjoy the many facial expressions of Honey while she hits those drums!

I've been awol from the page for a few months as life is coming at me 100 mph, however last weekend I took a break from the craziness and spent 5 days at the best music festival in the world, the Laurel Cove Music Festival. It's like a family reunion, seeing old friends and meeting new ones and I always discover new bands during the event. As I have in years past I shot nearly every band and I haven't had much time to even look at many photos I took since I'm now preparing for a yard sale this weekend and replacing some 130 year old floor boards in my house on Tuesday. At a quick glance it appears I was on my game and got a lot of really good shots, here's a few images that caught my eye. I'll have more to come next week. I hope you enjoy these!

It's Waterfall Wednesday and to celebrate let's take a visit to Amos Falls, a beautiful off trail waterfall in Whitley County, Kentucky. This photo was taken on a visit with my good friend Jeff Burcher back in spring of 2019. This falls had been on my list for years and it was great to finally knock it off my list. I really want to get back there because some new comps have opened up for some great shots. Hoping to get out this weekend, though I'm not so sure Amos will be on the list. Looking forward to a break and getting back to nature.

It's Waterfall Wednesday and for this week's edition I thought I would share one of my favorite waterfall photos! Snagged this unusual perspective of Cedar Cliff Falls in Cedarville, Ohio while they were installing a new boardwalk to the falls. Though manmade, this 40 foot tall waterfall is a real stunner.
