I knew I'd go up for the New Mexico 6-Man State Championship game, even as just a fan, and when we worked it out to get the highlights on KFDA in Amarillo and here in Lubbock on KCBD, and then had the NMAA reach out for pictures... it cemented it. Man, the Grady Bronchos had a good season. I know some of those boys were still upset the next day, probably still are. But they did well. They made this ole' Broncho proud. But it hits a different level when there are a few kids on this team that are practically family. Don't hang your heads too low though.... keep playing like you have the last few years and you'll be back with another chance in roughly 360 days.

Toughest thing to do in a football season is beat the same team twice. Logan proved why that's tough. Those kids responded when they had their back against the wall probably better then any team I've seen the last few years, and this was my 30th football game so far of 2025. And I know Grady-Logan are old rivals, but man, if we can decide the state title between us every year and keep it in Eastern New Mexico, let's do it. I got plenty of shots of your kids.... maybe even two of my favorite football pictures of the year so far.... and I hope you enjoy them. Congrats!

Had a chance to catch my old high school play football a few weeks ago. I had responsibilities with the TV station before, so I only made it at half... and only got a few series in before Grady 50'd Roy/Mosquero. So forgive the lack of action shots. I just grabbed what I could.

Sadly, I was supposed to make the entirety of the NMSD game, but that got cancelled. Hoping to run up to Grady during the playoffs.

Stepped a little out of my creative comfort zone the other day, and started something that maybe we'll be able to share the results of (good or bad) in a week or two. Of course, had to take a few pictures along the way... and attach a GoPro to Adam's bass.

I was blessed and honored to be asked by the Grady, NM Class of 2025 Seniors and their sponsors to come out and take pictures of graduation. My first Grady graduation since I graduated in 2002.
Had to operate with an on-camera flash and no extra lights in the smaller darker space, but I think many of these turned out great after a little work!

Braly is the definition of blink and they are grown up. Wasn't too long ago this kid was running around in his diapers... now he's graduating High School.

Contrary to what he would have us believe, he does smile. I saved those pictures for his mom to be the first to share.

Also, took a gamble on the half and half picture. I'm just happy I got two pictures in two totally different places and 6 months apart, to line up pretty dang well. I think it turned out alright!

Always cool seeing posts like this and knowing half the pictures came off my camera. Between my own coaching around Lubbock, volunteering with Basketball Smiles, working with KCBD, and now my own business... it's been great getting to know many of the coaches across our region. Many of whom are the most genuine, caring people you'll meet and are in it for the right reasons. Don't let tough exteriors fool you. Happy National Coaches Day!

A little late, but here's the Grady vs Roy/Mosquero pictures from last week! They moved the game up and hour, and with how little cell signal I have between Tucumcari and Roy, we had no idea. So we missed the rain of the first half. And prayers going up for Roy's QB and his injury. Haven't heard how he's doing, but I imagine he's still sore.

Was out in Grady with the Mackechnie/Whitehead gang, and stopped by the Alma Mater to catch a Football game. Hopefully will be able to get up to Roy for this week's too! I'd like to have gotten more then 55 pictures, but y'all handled business.

More experimenting with HDR composites. When I put these together, hard to believe they were taken at 1am, but the moonlight cooperated. Even caught a meteor.
