Good morning! The dress room at The Boho Being is FULL and can use a few things:

1 - Please tell any high school student you know that we have a dress room full of free semi-formals and prom dresses. They’re welcome to come get what they need and as much as they need for the year. We’re open Tuesday-Saturday. Please come before 2:30p (especially on Saturday). 1184 Front Street, Slidell.

2 - Our dress room is community based and funded by donations. We are out of room, so we can’t accept any more dress donations but we do need monetary donations to replace some of our dress racks. We have one Z-rack. Our other racks are not strong enough to manage the weight they’re under, which poses as a liability. The racks I would like to get are $63.99 (pic in comments). We have $25 in donations now. Donations can be made via Zelle or in person.

3 - We could use some volunteer help to organize ddresses by size and fix any dresses that are unzipped or falling off hangers.

If you plan to swing by, please let me know so I can turn the ac down upstairs.

Check out the video in comments to see the dresses we have. I’m unable to answer size and style questions but I can tell you, we have a huge range of sizes from petite to plus size.

Jacci Gresham needs no introduction because if you know, you know...but just in case you don't and because this fantastic woman deserves to be recognized, here's a brief history on the friend I made in Ms. Jacci: Jacci Gresham is THE FIRST in many things. She's THE FIRST African American female tattoo artist in the United States and THE FIRST woman of color to open a tattoo shop in the United States, Aart Accent Tattoos & Body Piercing, operating for over 4 decades in New Orleans. Ms. Jacci is a pioneer and trailblazer, but if you ask her, she was "just doing my job". Ms. Jacci's work at her NOLA tattoo shop is soon coming to an end but her legacy will continue in the many plans she is making for the future, which I confirmed, includes continuing to tattoo. Currently, a children's book is being written about Ms. Jacci and luckily for me, I was asked to provide a portrait of Ms. Jacci for her book. It truly was an honor to work with Ms. Jacci and to create these portraits of such a beautiful, inspiring, sassy icon. Ms. Jacci - I look forward to remaining your friend, hearing more of your stories, and planting your garden!
