The Viewfinder

The Viewfinder My parents gave me my first canon film camera when I was a kid and it quickly grew to be a huge passion of mine.

These days that passion still remains but my equipment has been slightly upgraded. I am constantly looking forward to taking the next great picture of anything and everything I can focus my lens on from pets and bugs to event shows and the great outdoors. So if you have a project or an event you would like captured in time feel free to contact me and we can work something out!

Unfortunately our skies are not as clear as they were in Utah but I was able to get a picture of the wolf moon along with three of the planets almost aligned, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars.

We had some spare time after our Grand Canyon visit and decided to take a spur of the moment trip out to see the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in Utah. We were fortunate enough to catch a UTV tour of the sand dunes for an hour and had an absolute blast! What an unique experience, certainly something we didn't expect to do this trip!

This morning we took a long drive to go see the North Rim and was greeted by a beautiful drive with fall colors! We also got to see "wild cows" lol out of all the animal crossing signs we passed the cows were the only ones we saw crossing the road. There was an elderly gentleman at the Canyon who was amazing, we saw him quietly playing guitar and before we knew it he had a gathering watching him while he sang We Are The Rangers (we are the champions). Overall though, highly recommend the North Rim. There wasn't that many people so it was very relaxing and I felt like we were closer to the Canyon so it was easier to see down into the depths which was wild. Definitely recommend over the south rim!

What an amazing day it has been. We got up long before sunrise to beat the crowds and go walk through the narrows at Zion. We took one of the first few shuttle busses at 7 to get out there. The temperature was around the 70s for half the hike and the water was so cold. One of the very first sections we had to wade through water that was almost up to my chest. It was a rude awakening lol but thankfully that was as deep as it got, at least where we went. Its hard to accurately describe how high the cliff walls were, pictures just don't do it justice. One of the best hikes we have ever done. But don't let the pictures fool you. We had a few rare moments to ourselves but the later in the day it got, especially when we started to head back, there were so many people out, it was insane. Greatful we had the idea to get out super early.

We stayed up late last night to do some astrophotography. It's so dark out where we are that we got some clear shots of the milky way. We don't get to see that at home.

After our disc golf adventure we took a drive out around Zion National Park. Most of it was by shuttle bus so we just took a couple different stops and wandered around a bit. Gorgeous place. It seriously felt like the desert version of Colorado. Can't wait tomorrow, we are going to venture down the Narrows of Zion.

Little disc golf adventure to Thunderbird Gardens Disc Golf Course. This place was stunning! Especially the drive in to the park. Lots of elevation in the back half though, these pictures really don't do it justice. It was a hike. But one we'll worth taking! Such a photogenic place.

Woke up to a familiar friend this morning. Gerry is back! Vibing early with a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains.
