No other cat loved kids the way Leslie “kitty” Knope loved kids. She wanted to be a part of ALL the action - especially the snuggles. When I took our wild little 1 yr old Baker to the humane society, she was the only kitten who sought him out. She sat in his lap and calmed him down immediately. We took her home that day. There have been countless nights that we’ve had to sneak into baker and delta’s rooms to take her off their bed so she didn’t wake them with her purring, times that kiddo neighbors and friends have gone searching the house to get a snuggle, and times we’ve seen kids out on our porch with her in their lap, enjoying the sun. She gave us SO much love. Last night, after snuggling the kids while they played Mario cart, she fell asleep and didn’t wake up. We all take solace in knowing that she has her favorite ham for her last meal, didn’t suffer as she went peacefully, and hopefully felt just as loved by us. It’s unfair that we have to say goodbye to beloved pets too soon and yet we are so incredibly grateful to have had 13 years with her. 🤍
