Why do newborn photographers recommend photographing your baby within the first two weeks?

Those first days are such a unique window. Newborns are naturally sleepy, incredibly flexible, and more likely to settle into those beautiful, curled-up positions that remind us of their time in the womb.

As the weeks go by, babies become more alert and their sleep patterns change, which can make traditional newborn posing much more challenging.

That’s why I recommend scheduling your newborn photography session within the first 14 days whenever possible.

But missed that window? Don’t worry!

Our Infant Sessions are designed specifically for babies 3–8 weeks old, with a more baby-led approach that focuses on wrapped, swaddled images and capturing all those adorable newborn details safely.

Whether your baby is 5 days or 5 weeks, there is still so much worth documenting.
