Keshava Mysore I am a biologist, birder and a photographer in no particular order! Follow me for πŸ¦πŸ¦‰πŸ¦…πŸͺ²πŸžπŸ•· Hi there, thanks for visiting my page. My first camera was an iPhone4!

I am a biologist interested and passionate about insects. I try to understand how they make our world a better or worst place to live!!! Presently I study various aspects of mosquito vector biology. My secondary passion happens to be photography. I started photographing what I see around by 2010. Over the years I have gradually upgraded to a full-frame camera and presently shoot with Nikon D750. I

love the camera. I travel quite a bit both for work and pleasure and use the opportunity to do some photography. Of late I have also become an avid birder. I bird as often as I can both in my immediate surroundings and wherever I travel. I shoot landscapes and birds most of the time. Here and there you would see cityscapes as well. Hope you like what I do and what you see here. If you like anything you see here feel free to mail me at [email protected] or use the contacts form, I am in NW Indiana often also called Michiana along with SW Michigan.

A great resource if you want to turn your backyard into a nice "habitat" for you and all living beings around and not just a "property". I am glad to contribute my images (including the cover) that I had taken over the years to this noble cause. Hope this encourages one and all to try some of the suggestions in the volume.

Good day/morning everyone. Hope your week is going on well. Today's is of a Wood Thrush going through our leaf pile. As you can see, deap leaf piles are a great importance not to just this species but many many different species of birds and other animals. If you are really interested in helping our fellow living beings, create an environment that they need and not what you think they want (i.e. bird feeders). Make no mistake, bird feeders have their place, but without insects (leaf piles like this harbors millions of bugs) there are no birds. Even those birds that you see come to your feeders need bugs to feed their young ones. So, please do everyhting you can possibly do to help, not for their sake, but for ours.
Best,
Keshav.

Good day everyone. Hope you all had a nice weekend. It was hot yet managable weekend here in NW Indiana. Today's is of a mom/dad Sandhill Crane with one of their babies from a few summers ago. Sandhill Cranes parents (both mom & dad) are known stay together with thier chicks until they become adult. In most cases they stay as a family group until next breeding season. As the summer wraps up (hope it does soon!!) this video reminds me of how busy we are this year and didnt get many chances to bird our area. The schools are almost back in session!! Hope you got to enjoy the summer better than what we could.
Best,
Keshav.

Hello folks, how are you all doing. Finished our move to our "own" place a few days ago. Majority of things are still sitting around and we need to organize and give place to lots ofTings. But for today enjoy the beautiful song of the House Wren (now called Northern House Wren) singing his heart out from our previous backyard. I hope he can be heard with all the noise we generate. Hope you enjoy the video and feel free to like and share with family and friends.
Best Wishes,
Keshav.

Hello folks, how are you all doing. The heat is creeping back here in NW Indiana. Hopefully, it will be the last of it before fall weather. Today's is of a flock of Wood Ducks competing for the attention of a female. If you look closely there is one female in the centre that is being wooed by 6-7 males. It was interesting to watch how males behaved with each other. Enjoy the video as I do last of my packing to start the move tomorrow.
Best Wishes,
Keshav.

Good day friends. Hope your week is off to a great start. Relief is expected by the end of the week here in NW Indiana with cooler temps. Until then we have to bear with heat, humidity and rain here in NW Indiana. Today's are a bunch of Yellow-rumped Warblers with a Palm Warbler thrown in busy foraging after an overnight migration flight a few springs ago. Seen on the campus of University of Notre Dame. Excuse my daughter in between all the other birds and a red squirrel in between. Feel free to like and share with your friends and family.
Best,
Keshav.
