The older I get, the more I realize photos are proof that ordinary days were actually extraordinary.

When I look back at photos of my kids, I don’t immediately remember the sleep regressions, the sibling fights, the endless messes, or the hard seasons that felt so overwhelming in the moment.

Instead, I remember the good.

The way they snuggled me before bed.
The belly laughs.
The moments they actually played sweetly together.
The proud little faces after learning how to ride a bike without training wheels.
The way they looked at me when they were still little enough to think I could fix everything.

Photos have a way of softening time. They remind us of the love first.

That’s why I believe documenting your family matters so much, even in seasons that feel chaotic or imperfect. Because years from now, you won’t be looking for perfection. You’ll be looking for proof of connection. Proof of how it felt to be together in this chapter of life.

The ordinary moments end up becoming the ones we miss the most.
