Protesters at Pride. I like posting variations of the same frame, represented in color and b&w, as well as wide angles followed by tighter crops. The vibrant colors unify the images, while b&w really deliver a strong mood. Similarly, I like how wide shots represent all of the elegant chaos and stories going on in a single frame, but when it comes to viewing images on mobile, the elements sometimes get lost in the mix. It’s fun to experiment.

I am very late in posting my pics from NYC Pride, but here are some highlights. It was amazing to see such enthusiasm and light across the city. The last Pride parade I attended was in Seattle in the early aughts, with friends. Naturally, NYC’s was on a much, much larger scale. The crowds did get intense. Some photos I liked in both color and B&W, so I am including both.

I’ve done very little birding this winter, but I was impressed by this guy right here. He was flying with two of his buddies on my street this afternoon. He was intense but they didn’t collect any bounty as far as I could tell.
