Photographing an athelete requires that same skills and timing as photographing a dancer. Please do not send me hate mail that dancers are atheletes too. I know that. But the photographic technique is still the same. Too little light, the need for a high shutter speed and usually the need to raise the ISO to get an f/stop high enough for sufficient depth of field. Fortunately, in my studio, the lights are powerful enough that no comprimise is required. The hard part here was to time both dancers to leap in sync with each other. It won't happen on the first attempt! Just politely request please do it again, and again and again until you have an image that works.
Nikon D3 camera body, Nikon 50mm 1.4 /13, 1/125 sec. ISO 400 with studio strobes.
