Family photo sessions usually involve a little chaos, but this one came with a surprise proposal 😭💍

Sweet Andi thought we were just taking photos with her family while secretly, her boyfriend Andy had flown in to propose. I was told he would be there around 10 minutes of starting the shoot, but he ended up being a few minutes late and those few minutes felt like an eternity on my end 😅

Meanwhile, we were over here doing every pose imaginable, distracting kids who were cold and tired while the adults kept trying to figure out when Andy was going to arrive.

Finally, he appears walking down through the trees. Every single one of us sees him immediately, except. Andi.

She was so busy entertaining kids in the chaos that she didn’t notice him, even when he was standing like 10 feet away from her 😂

The SECOND she finally turned around and realized Andy had flown in to surprise her, the shock on her face was EVERYTHING. And then he got down on one knee 🥹

Honestly the perfect mix of emotional, hilarious, chaotic, and unforgettable.

A true renaissance man. I love when seniors bring things that represent them and their time in high school! Brennan has many talents, one of those being theatre. So, what better way than to bring a shakespearean costume?! 🎭.

I’m excited to get to see him perform in the Prince of Egypt at our local theatre this weekend!

Hi, hello, hey—here’s my face, in case you didn’t know who I am for all y’all new followers! I’m Shayna. I’m so glad you’re here.

This spring season has hit me like a whirlwind. I'm working on some fun projects that I'm super excited about, but if I'm being honest, I'm a little scared of them too.

This is the first time in long time that I'm chasing big goals, not just in my business but also my personal life. It feels invigorating,and I finally feel alive after the past two years.

When we first moved to Utah from Texas, we quickly found out I was pregnant and trying to do anything pregnant is just exhausting and it felt like a strange time to go out and make friends because I knew my life would quickly change once baby arrived. So, in the exhaustion and weird stage of life, I took a step back from photography and pursuing new friendships.

Well, fast forward to 2 days past my due date, I was in labour when we learned our sweet baby boy had passed away. Which, I guess I was right, my world quickly changed in a way that I never expected.

Last year was one of the hardest years of my life. And again I found myself in a predicament that left me not wanting to invest in new friendships because, now instead of pregnancy, it was grief of a baby who never cried. Explaining grief to strangers is kind of exhausting. Most people can't understand and aren't willing to sit in the uncomfortableness of it all, so again, having no energy, I didn't pursue anything new.

I'm not really sure what happened, but after Willards first birthday came around, a fog lifted. A fog I didn't even realize was so heavy. But make no mistake in thinking I've moved on, or that "I'm happy now" because its still feels like a lie when I say I'm good. Like sure, I'm doing good considering my child is buried in the ground.

But all that to say: for the first time in a very long time, I have to capacity to chase big goals. Ones that scare me. Ones I've already cried about they scare me so much 😅.

But something I'm so thankful for are the friends & mentors that have partnered with and encouraged me every step of the way this year. I think yall know who yall are🫶
