Cake smash sessions don't always go according to plan—and that's okay. 💛🎂

Sometimes babies love the cake. Sometimes they need a break. Sometimes they decide frosting belongs everywhere except their mouth (honestly that's my favorite part–let's get messy! haha.)

I found this little book at the Shadle library sale 💜

It reminded me of when I came up with my business name—Acorns + Oak Photography.

It walks through the life of an acorn… how something so small can grow into something strong, rooted, and ever-changing.

And it made me realize how much my life has grown in the last few years too.

When I started this business, I was stepping into something new.
Since then, I’ve grown not just as a photographer—but as a mom.

Now I get to capture that same kind of growth for other families.
