Greetings everyone,

I don’t know if I’ve shared this news before, but I’ve been involved in “Pottery Place Plus”, an artists-cooperative gallery downtown, since last December. The Gallery is located on Washington Street, right next to Auntie’s Bookstore and across from the Davenport Grand. In fact, there is an entrance from Auntie’s, in addition to the Washington St. entrance.

This August, the Liberty Gallery, located on the mezzanine inside Auntie’s, features an exhibit of large works by Pottery Place Plus artists titled "The Big Pictures”. In addition to being a gallery member, I’m involved in this show and wanted to extend an invitation to you, especially to the First Friday Artists’ Reception on August 4th, from 5:00 – 9:00pm.

Show Dates: July 30, 2023 - August 26, 2023

First Friday Reception: August 4, 2023, 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Participating Artists: Mary Pat Kanaley, Cherylee Duncan, Katie Frey, Kay West, Ann Contois, Adam Blalock, Scott Bassett, and Linnea Tobias

Highlights: This exhibit is a chance to see the "WOW" pieces that our Pottery Place Plus artists create that are too large to fit in their display spaces in the retail gallery. Mediums include photography; digital art; oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings; and mixed media in each artist's unique style.

Everything in Pottery Place Plus is locally handcrafted or handmade by the 30+ gallery members.

I hope you’re able to come and enjoy the show,
Scott

So, my wife and I made another trip to the Pend Oreille R😀iver mid-July when I shot a few more aerials of the area. Thought I'd share. I eventually hope to add these to my Scott Bassett Studios website.

My wife and I spent some time at our spot up on the Pend Oreille river a few weeks back and I got out my new drone. I'm afraid I'm hooked! One thing I didn't realize about drones is all the government regulations you must adhere to. Granted - they're needed so these things don't become a plague, but still there's a steep learning curve if you're going to do it right.

It is a little sad that we've come to this point in the journey, but I have decided to minimize the dedicated brick-and-mortar part of Wild Goose Gallery. The gallery has not generated enough income to sustain keeping that space open as a walk-in gallery with multiple artists.

I plan to keep Wild Goose operational, as I am currently selling custom-framed and open print editions through a client in Nevada and the occasional art show. I hope to develop other client locations for custom-framed prints.

I will also continue to operate Wild Goose in the office next door to where it was, but as a one-person shop to display my work for people to come see if they wish. For the time being, Wild Goose shares office space with our design firm, Bassett & Brush, which is still located at 3919 N. Monroe. I am typically in mornings, Mon - Thur, 9:00 - 12:00 (noon). Please call if you'd like to make an appointment for some other time. Call 509-327-3182. I'll answer if I'm here or if you leave a message I get an email notification and will call you back.

Now that the space where the gallery was located is vacant, we plan to rent that neat little office space, so we can realize some income from the property and maybe travel a bit more. It's not quite ready, but when it is I'll post it here. The space is 840 sq ft, with 3 offices, a conference room, storage areas, air conditioning and an alarm system.

Please stay tuned...
