When will you most likely spot elk? Usually during dawn and dusk because they are crepuscular. When the sun is high, they’re usually hanging back conserving energy. This guy was spotted early morning hours during the elk rut, their mating season.

I’ve spent more than 10 years to capture a bull elk in the water. The wait is over. He patiently waited till I picked myself up after three falls and got to a point where I could simply sit in the water and capture his beauty. The wait was worth it.
