The Locklear family + a rainy day + a covered porch = always a favorite ☔️

We just let the afternoon do its thing. Cloudy morning, babies on hips, big kids running laps around the porch… it was perfectly imperfect.

One of my favorite little families that I’ve had the privilege of photographing from the very beginning, and I just don’t take that for granted.

Mommas in the thick of it, the ones keeping four tiny humans alive and still saying yes to photos , you are the ones i want in front of my camera. 🤍

The way their tiny fingers curled around yours. The soft, peach-fuzz hair on their shoulders. The way they looked swaddled in that heirloom blanket that’s been passed down through generations.

Newborn days are a fever dream of love and laundry, but they are also the foundation of your family’s story. Don’t worry about being “camera ready.” Your baby already thinks you’re the most perfect person in the world. Let’s just document the moment. 💗

Sometimes life has its own timeline. We spent this sunny morning on the Andertons family farm soaking up the quiet before baby number two arrived, but it turns out we were closer to the finish line than we realized. This sweet little one decided they just couldn’t wait any longer to join the family. These frames feel even more like a treasure now knowing they were some of the very last moments before everything changed. 🤍

I wanted to do something small to help support Rubies and Rogues, so I’m giving away one a family sessionion to one lucky donor.

If you know me, you know this rescue is close to my heart. I’ve seen firsthand the work they do for animals and families in our community, and right now they really need help.

They recently took in five puppies that were dumped by a creek, and just days later all five tested positive for parvo.

Because this happened over Easter weekend, emergency vet care was the only option. Without it, these puppies likely wouldn’t have survived.

Now they’re facing approximately $2,000 per puppy in medical costs between emergency care and hospitalization this week.

That’s $10,000 total.

This kind of unexpected medical situation is incredibly hard for a foster-based rescue to absorb, and they can’t do it alone.

Friends, I don’t usually come here for help like this, but I’m rallying the troops today because we’ve hit a bit of a crisis.

Two of the puppies from our recent intake litter have come down with Parvo. Since it’s Easter weekend, the rescue’s regular vet is closed, meaning our only option was the emergency hospital. As many of you know, an ER visit for something as serious as Parvo is incredibly expensive, and for a rescue group that runs entirely on donations, it’s a massive hit to the funds we have to save these pups.

I know this page is usually filled with beautiful, quiet moments and photography, but rescue work has such a huge piece of my heart, too. Sometimes those two worlds collide, and I want to give back in the best way I know how.

I’ll be drawing one name from everyone who is able to donate to receive a free family session with me. Whether it’s $5 or $50, every single bit helps these pups get the emergency care they need. I’d love nothing more than to get your family in front of my lens as a thank you for helping me save these sweet babies. 🤍
