I’m gonna be putting up a giveaway for my 8th business anniversary later today, so be on the lookout!

I am headed to shoot a wedding in Alabama, but when I get home, I’ll post the giveaway for anyone who is interested. ❤️

***8 Year Anniversary***
Today is my business’ 8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Today, 8 years ago, I shot my very first paid sessions. I shot 20+ free sessions for portfolio building leading up to that point and knew I was right where I belonged.

I think, truly, the reason I’m still here, is my purpose. The purpose behind my business. My sweet angel girl and the entire reason I had the courage to finally pull the trigger and learn everything I could learn and pour everything into my craft.

But, just as important, you all. You all are also my purpose. My clients have truly become way more than clients.. you all are family. You’ve all trusted me through some of the darkest, hardest, and most painful points in your life and also brought me in to celebrate your greatest victories and milestones. None of which I could ever take for granted. Telling your stories, while also becoming deeply intertwined with them, means more than you’ll ever know.

Thank you for 8 incredible years supporting my business. Coming back time and time again. From proposals, to engagements, to weddings and pregnancy announcements, births, fresh 48s, newborns, milestones, couples, senior sessions, graduations, sports, and everything in between… being there, capturing it all, celebrating you all… it is everything I could have ever asked for. And, of course, the bereavement sessions.. the moments where my heart has broken with you all, I’ve shed tears in the room with you all, captured moments that both broke you and also made you who you are today. Every moment has shaped, not only my business, but also who I am as a person, right along with you all. Each and every one of you holds a special place in my heart and I hope to spend many more years watching your families grow and celebrate so many more incredible moments together.

Full circle moment.

I have stayed close with my 6th grade teacher since the moment she retired and I left her classroom for the last time. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and left home to LA at 15 years old, and then went on to settle down in Tennessee. She attended my wedding, she visited Nashville when my oldest son was born and held him at just weeks old. I’ve gotten together with her when I come back home and visited. She even helped me through my divorce, as she was just going through a divorce of her own.

Fast forward 26 years since I was in her class. She messaged me and asked me to do a Senior session for her son who is graduating. Truly. What an honor. It was no secret she was my favorite teacher ever. She truly loved me and encouraged me, supported me, and helped me through some seriously dark times. To be trusted to take her son’s senior pictures, was the biggest compliment ever.

Congratulations, Sam!!!! He truly is the coolest kid and has such a fun and spunky personality. It was so much fun working with him.

Here’s to a new chapter and many more years filled with incredible milestones, amazing memories, and future that is filled with endless possibilities. ❤️

As my girly closes out Nationals in Myrtle Beach, I had to share some sweet dance pics I got of her here. She looks so professional and so grown. She turned 10 the first day we got here, so we got to celebrate her on the beach. Heading back to Nashville this afternoon is so bittersweet. She’s coming back stronger, exhausted, and just a little bit older and more professional. Our suitcases are also overtaken by a plethora of awards to show for her hard work this season! Here’s to the most amazing 2025-2026 season with The Collective TN!
